Are board games dead?

I remember when I was little I used to get games like snakes and ladders, hungry hippos and operation for Christmas,but now children are getting wiis, gameboys and xbox360s.Is anybody still buying their kids board games or has everybody converted to the electronic version?

I dont think so we still play them with our daughter but we wont buy her any video games. I dont want her sitting in front of a tv all day.
