Can't figure out the opening page of my website...

This is about my current project - the site on my profile. I started off with a text welcome page... nobody ever clicked on a link to go to the next page... then I had a page full of banners for the front page, but that was really cheesy and off-topic for the site... now I got a mix of the two, but I'm back to no one exploring the site further... Could you take a look at my front page and tell what's wrong with it?
