Help....I'm Overwhelmed!'

I am a neophyte to myLot...been a small/vocal member for nearly a year! Have never chosen to make it anything other than a social network....but lately I am going insane......I have recently acknowledged some new friends......I access myLot...their Posts are less than one sentence long......and they are posting 20+ postings at a time, many that it takes so many precious minutes to read....and then feel, no comment! I have respected this site, cuz I really respect my truly good friends, but also feel bad about the one's I don't respond to! DoI need to leave my conscience locked up to belong here? What is with the one line )less than.. mostly.....it's like you just sit down here and crank them out.....see it says "be descriptive as possible." Yes, I am cranky, but ding it, this is crazy.....I loved this site because it was real people, like; BCMike. p1k1efish, Modestah, Ambiepam,deebomb,Lacyjarhead,Oceantiara,mentalward,miraclefreebies....et al, where discussions were possible! The less than one line posts....and responses are to me the opposite reason I chose to belong here....so what's going wrong!

The way I see it many newbies did not read even a single line of the guidelines. So assumptions and conjectures were made on what this place is. Many of them seem to think they get money for each posting regardless of the content and quality. So they make as many posts as they could within a short period of time. Whatever that comes to their minds becomes a discussion topic. Other methods are also used. This sort of behaviour does disappoint me because they are not making real discussions. Nevertheless if they do not change in attitude then they will realise or find out myLot is not the place for them. Several of them have not been seen for several days. all the best, rosdimy

WOW..............WOWWOW! You said EVERYTHING I wanted to say.....but more masterfully than I could ever have! I don't know how to Thank You.....but I guess I am that "whiz" that doesn't want to hurt feelings! I really must say...that I just got denounced today for using a word on myLot that was not allowed.....but there is no-where I can find a word ban.....but in my own "feeble" little mind, I can figure out that if you start a discussion with a one line "feeble" question...and do 25 posts of those kind of questions, your "myLot" friends are going to get (frustrated or P'O'd) at you...cuz that's a whole lot of time......WASTED, to clean up your own computer! Thanks, rosdimy....I've gone on, tttttttoooooo, long....Cheers,bud!

you can report them if you like, they are just here to make money and not care for the rules of the site.

Y'know, winterose,I AM probably the worst person on the site.....I am so unaware of the rules....this site is "my happy place" I have been able to share precious moments with people like you....and YOU are the glue that holds my world together,so I know I have good cyber friends! Are you not finding this, tho...or am I just in a "really bad WET coast winter?" Cheers & much love, the other BCite besides "BCMike."

Well, a lot of times, these discussions that are being started by people that tend to be only one line or two and actually are members who start at least 10 or more New discussions a day are not interested in really getting to know people, and many times these are Newer people in here as well. Many will learn from their ways and become Great posters here, but then there are many who will choose to keep it this way as well. Personally I do not see the point either, and how can you make much $$ when no one really wants to take time to respond back to you as well?

Wow! Thank you for some incredible insight...and from a site veteran! I guess that what I wanted out of this site, is the wonderful..wonderful social interaction that I have received, and I have only been here a year...but I am amazed at the number of people that are here just for money! Possibly, I made a mistake, this was my socialization, not my income...cause when I sit down here, I wish to chat, be amicable....and enjoy! Thank you, for taking the time to assuage my misfits! Do know, I truly respect hearing from some-one of your calibre! Cheers and the very best to you and yours!

Hi pergammano, I guess you have to be selective when responding to discussions. It is humanely impossible to answer all your friends new discussions. Especially when your friends list continues to grow. (c) ronaldinu 2009 - the more people I meet-the more I love my dog

I guess sometimes I am just a cranky, old croc! But yesterday, there was 11 new discussions --- all less than one line (from one person)...and NONE of them I had any thoughts about, other than, this is NOT a discussion...just a question! I love good discusssions, with good thought process! thanks!

I really don't think you don't need to get overwhelmed by it as it own;t affect you in here. Just choose which ones to respond to and which one's do you need to ignore. Well for those that write a one liner post they won't get anything from doing that except many minus points of just being reported to Admin for disciplinary action.

Thanks for the compliment then. I have been here for the past year only and so far enjoyed staying around here. Just enjoy and ignore those that don't go to your taste to respond to that is the only way to really make you move forward.

I am amazed that I have NOT noticed your posts! I will be a year in January....but looking at your avatar...I am so amazed that I did NOT see the horse...my friend, you are talking to a horse! I saw my first car @ 12 yrs. old, cuz I lived in the REAL country...and the most horses I can remember us having was 63! I grew up as a quasi vet, farrier, and, in my day, a LOSING jockey, but a moneyed barrelracer! So, roll out the barrels...Thank you for taking the time to respond...and a very special Holiday Time to you and yours!

First of all, Season's Greetings to you RSA101, my goodness you are the epitome of myLot, ....look at your Posts! Congrats....so I do bow down with respect. I do announce that I am a neophyte...and have only been on the site for a short time, but dang....do I get "ticked" when the posts/answers are one (less) liners! I'm not one known for verbal diah_____, but gee whiz, take up my time, make it something profound/thought provoking! Thanks, and greetings!

I try not to get irritated by the actions of others, but I'm human and sometimes things get to me too. But, I try really hard to follow the belief "to each his own" even if someone is breaking rules. I don't know...I guess everyone just has a different agenda. If I don't like how someone is behaving, I generaly try to avoid them. Same goes for myLot when possible.

What a great name...and thanks for adding your great insight! My problem is that I am a "whoz"....an easy person, and fully responsible for my own downfalls, and then I take on the moral obligation of what I have done. I accepted two new wonderful friends here, and I would get on the 'puter...and there would be 18 in a row new discussions, all one liners, and I would feel that because I had accepted them as friends, for their income, I had to respond......and I was overwhelmed. I am overwhelmed, at my age, what a lesson in learning! The Season's best to you & yours....greetings from Galiano, B.C. Canada
