Sony MEX R1 Car DVD Player Queries

I have got a sony mex R1 DVD player installed in my car but its not playing some of the cds and dvds due to compatibility problems can anyone help me out with this as i am not able to know which dvd to be used to write an mp3 disc which could be read by the player i am from India so please let me know if anyone has any idea abt this player or any experience which brand dvd should i use for this player to make an mp3 or movie disc
