In yesterday's test match i was amazed when Shewag was declared the man of the match. Were you too amazed by this?
I thought Strauss who made a century in every innings deserved a man of the match.
Whats your opinion?

Usually a player from a winning team gets the MOM award. The very essence of the Man of the Match is the player whose contribution was most vital for the victory of the team.If it would have been a drawn match or England had won,Andrew Strauss would have definitely got the award.happy mylotting.

I don't think its anything wrong in giving man of the match award to Sehwag. He deserve it. I don't think there would have been a result possible in 1st test match without Sehwag. Sehwag is the turning point of the game. So whats wrong in giving man of the match award to him? Its very difficult to get a result in test match. Lot of matches are getting drawn when it comes to test matches. If I was to select the man of the match, I would select a person who is a turning point of the match and who made a result to be possible in the test match.

it was a very tough decision to select a man of the match but man of the match is a person who wins the game for the team except of certain exceptional performances. Sehwag's innings changed the course of the match and helped india to complete greatest run chase ever in this country. so, i think the decision to give man of the match to sehwag was a right one. Happy mylotting friend.....

i was not amazed by the man of the match given to sehwag just because that the performance of an individual player must lead to the victory of the team and not with the improvement of the individual records. In that way the performance of sehwag have made the team to win the match and the performance of Andrew Strauss did not lead to the victory so i think that sehwag deserved the man of the match award as without his 83 knock India would have either loosed or drawn the test match and would never had won it

I think it was Sehwag who brought India in the position from where they could win the match rather than defend it.Strauss did not get the award because no matter how much runs he scored did not help his side to win.But whoever won the award it was Sachin's classy century that stole the show for me.

hi.yes strauss hit two tons in the two innings but they didnt help the english team to win or atleast draw the match.the two main things that won the match is sehwag's quick knock of 83 and 163 unbeaten stand between tendulkar and yuvraj.so the option is either sachin for playing almost all through the day and sehwag without whom, india would not even thought of winning the match.ofcourse my choice always goes to sachin because for the last few years if you had notices, teams posting a total of even 250 for india to chase on the last day always believed they would win because we have a poor history and record of not playing the entire 90 overs on the fifth day to even save a test match.thats y i thought the man of the match should be given to sachin as he was the guy who was batting around everyone and playing a dravid innings.but that was a close call..happy lotting

If the award was called, best batsman of the match, it shoild have gone to strauss. But since the award clearly says "man of the match"- which means the person who had the biggest influence on the match, Shewag is the deserving recepent of this honour.
We all know what would have happened had shewag scored a duck in the second innings!
