I use to have terrible sinus congestion and stuffiness, especially in the winter time. My doctor used to prescribe different nasal sprays but I hated the side effects and drowsiness.
I found a nasal rinse from NeilMed that has given me great relief. I learned about it on an Oprah show. You can read the review on it at: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/964750/product_review_neilmed_sinus_rinse.html?cat=5
So do you or have you ever used a type of nasal rinse and what kind do you use?

Hi char! That's really very interesting! My doctor just gave
me Nasonex at my last visit to him two weeks ago. I was
complaining that I wake up all stuffy and congested and that's
the one he prescribed. I had never hear of NeilMed before. I
don't get any side effects from the Nasonex, but I can't really
say that it works that well either! I have only used it twice
since it got it though. I don't know what makes NeilMed
different. I will speak to my doctor about the next time I
go to see him and see what he says. I'm sure if he has heard
of it he won't have a problem prescribing it. He is pretty
good about keeping up with the newest medications so I'm sure
he should have heard about it and if not I know he would
research it.

I hate nasal sprays. My kids and I do have allergies which pop up from time to time, and cause all kinds of nasal problems. Now this may sound gross but it works, in a glass of warm water stir in anywhere from 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of salt, pour the water into the palm of your hand and snort it up one nostral at a time, just before it goes down the back of your throat stop and let it drain back out your nose. Best be by a sink when you do this. The salt water drys up your nose and sinuses. Start out with a little bit of salt at a time until you find the right amount. Too much salt and your nose feels like the Sahara.

no I haven't used any, are you really finding that it is helpful? My son has just bought a sinus spray for his cold but neither of us have ever used these products before.

Yes, Carol it really does help! It always feels so much better to get all the gunk out of my nose and I can actually breath again. The first time you do it, it seems kind of strange, but after awhile you just get used to doing it and are actually wanting to do it.
Thanks for your response!
