Will you be kind enough to donate your bonus to less fortunate ones?

My friend told me that there boss had set an emergency meeting to all employees and the menu was all about donating half of their bonuses to less fortunate children in their society so they can have a feastful merry xmas including gifts and some take home goodies. My friend disagree about the plan so she did not give a single penny to it. Now that she confirmed that the plan was true, she felt humiliated to the bones that she no longer have the courage to look on her co-employees faces particularly the Boss.. She asked me for an advice and I told her that she must approach the boss if she felt necessary and explain but she said she do not have the face to do it. So I told her to let things pass and be better next time but yet she is still in uncontrolled state of feeling down and humiliated.
Have you been asked same favor but doubted it only to find out in the end that the plans are genuine?

Hi anex
Many times we get our salaries debited from the source to reach out to welfare of different organisations. We do not mind at all for we know its for a good cause and its also a normal amount. I do not find any thing bad with your friend because ay times we are being robbed this way. Best thing is that she hjas understood. I am sure your bss would be happy as well.
How are you dear?

Hi anex08. The politically correct answer to your subject question would be YES. However I'm not a rich guy, and I do have my own family to feed. I can give some of it, but half is stretching it too far. The max I can spare would be 10%.
As for your second question, yes I have been asked for a favor, which I initially doubted, only for it to be genuine. I have to add though that most favors I rejected are really bogus, and only a handful are true. Cheers!

hi anex ...
i guess if i were to donate some of my bonus to less fortunate ones ... i will be categorised as "less fortunate" ...
Last year when i reeived my bonus , i did not see the money at all ... my husband took it for investment ...
This year i have already planned to close some of my very critically outstanding debts ...
I guess your friend could be in my shoes, that is why she could nto afford to share the bonus with less fortunate ..
There is nothing to be humiliated about this, we need the money not for fun or to buy expensive items but mostly to pay our loans and debts
cheers
