Hi MyLottians, I am glad to see the money coming into my Paypal account. Aren't you. If you have been reading the discussions here for the past 2 days. You are likely to find threads with questions and accusations about Ciao being a scam. Like I have been in many of these threads saying that we should remain cool and be patient as Ciao processed the payments. I am just an ordinary member of Ciao not the spokesman but I just couldn't stand the rumours spreading when the payout day hasn't even pass. Now that Ciao has made the payments slightly missing the mark, shouldn't you be saying something in this section especially members who have made wild assumptions about Ciao. Come on, we have collected our payment, we should do them some justice by at least saying sorry about naming Ciao as a scam. Ciao's reputation may have been affected by such claims and new members may have taken their guard to stay away from Ciao. What say you?

yeah, people need to cool their jets! Get a grip! Sheesh, Ciao is a couple of hours late and you think they're stealing from you. There were probably so many people who joined last month and wrote reviews that they had a hard time processing everyone's payment. Yes, people should be careful about the stuff they say from now on...it just shows how greedy people can be. If we all said bad things about companies like Ciao without any proof, then other companies will be scared of putting websites (AND paying writers like us) like Ciao in the future! Sure, I probably won't be frequenting Ciao as much these days, but I would like to give them a hand of applause of putting up with impatient people!

If it were the new members who were making these assumptions, it is "acceptable" if the statement are not too nasty. However for those who had gotten their payment are also following the lead. It just shows that the past year of effort by Ciao has been wasted. Having paying their members for so long and this time only a couple hours late, they are assuming that it is a scam. Happy MyLotting...

Hi mariab, Did you confront the person of his deeds based on your investigations? I would really wonder how he would respond to your comments after he is being exposed. Have you checked the dates of publish? If the publishing date of Ciao is earlier than Wikipedia, then he was have his being copied by someone else. There may also be a possibility that he had submitted his works to both Ciao and Wikipedia. It is human nature for someone to blame everything else except for himself. I studied this in social psychology. When a person is able to take a critical point of view and assess the situation, he will make clearer and wiser decisions. Thanks for sharing with us but remember not to get yourself into trouble. They may seek revenge by making false reports. Believe me, there are many ways to make another person's life miserable on the Internet. Happy MyLotting...

Funny enough, this same person is a cheater on mylot as well. I researched that person's past discussions and found that she copied her posts from the internet AND a well-known poet!! I was trying to confront the person, but I was told this is not allowed on mylot, but you can report them using the ! button. I did this. However, only the copied post was deleted, but the person was not banned - which is ok - I'm glad mylot gives people a second chance. About the wikipedia entry - thanks for the suggestion/comment. I didn't check the date, however, one of the reasons alarm bells went off in my head was because when this person responded to discussions, the writing and grammar (not to mention typing - sheesh, learn how to press shift and use punctuations!) was atrocious. BUT, when he/she started discussions, the format was different (italicized) and the writing was perfect and coherent! I don't claim to be perfect when it comes to writing, but the difference between the two were like night and day!

I have always maintained that ciao was not a scam site. i have been on ciao.uk for almost 8 months now and have received regular payments from them and since the two sites come under the same management, there is no reason to accuse ciao. com. I too have recd my payment from ciao and a mail confirming the same from the ciao staff :)

Hi kiran8, Thank you for responding. It is great to receive comments from a veteran of Ciao. I believe that some of those who has played a part in spreading panic among other members were in fact veterans (members who have been receiving payments from Ciao on a regular basis). Too bad there are no ways to prove this assumption but I hope that everyone here will learn from this that what we see or hear should not be taken true without questioning.

Hi chantalgiardina, I wasn't surprised to see my payout from Ciao. There have been many rumors about Ciao spreading wildly even before the due date for payments. One reason why many people are buying the idea that Ciao is a scam is due to the sudden quick changes from $1 to $0.25 and to none. This set the stage for the believe that Ciao is becoming a scam site. Make a rationale analysis on the claims and it is not too difficult that they are just pure assumptions without a valid argument. Thank you for your response and Happy MyLotting...
