Does anybody care about what they are posting here?

Are you serriously wasteing your time for pennies? Does anyone REALLY enjoy the experience of bloging and responding? It seems like alot of people post a discussion then just agree with every response even if it's completely opposite from the last one. And I've also noticed that people post the dumbest questions and everyone is like sharks going for it because they dont have to use their brains. Honestly do you do this for pennies? I say go get a job and make dollars on the hour, not fractions of a penny. Sorry if i've insulted anyone, but im just on here to type and have fun and learn cool stuff. It keeps me interested throughout the day because im a mom and sometimes i get bored. Did you know that Airlines offer "home jobs" for booking flights and what not? I think that for those of you who are limited to home jobs might want to look into that. Also the state has jobs where yoiu can be at home. Social workers, and stuff like that. I really think everyone should just use this as fun not a source of income it's seems so little to gain for carpletunnel.

I have never viewed this site as an income source and never will. The pennies I have earned have certainly stacked up over time though and I see them as being a secondary bonus to compliment all the other positive things I gain from being a member here. I do enjoy my interaction with people and the experience of blogging and responding because I have made many wonderful friends with fantastic senses of humour and it is a great escape for me a lot of the time. Anyone that comes to this site with a mindset of making money only will not last here for long at all; and the numbers game people on here totally defy the whole purpose of being a member of this community in my opinion.

Why thank you sharra. I am very grateful to have some Aussie friends here now too. Funnily enough, it has only been recently that I found any! You can't put a price on the laughs I get on here from all of you.

Very true James. I have made lots of friends in the last few months and if I had not come back to give this site a second try I would never have met you and you certainly have a fun sense of humour.

I too find it comical the excitement that some of these "myLotters" get from the pennies earned from typing. Offering them other jobs sources is not beneficial because they do it for fun mostly - yet the addiction sets in quickly and then they do it out of habit. I love responding, because cant seem to find a good discussion to begin, so I just reply to others. I dont often agree with the poster, and always try to give a different point of view.

I don't think so people who responded a discussion here does not used their intelligence. Am pretty sure that before they posted or responded a discussion they definitely know or read such. Otherwise, they are just fooling theirselves posting and responding without knowing. How about you?

no im really not following you. i think if you are going to post something you should have a point and not just use as many words as you can put together as possible ...... it ends up being a run on sentence, with no message, and its pointless. Who wants to read mumbo jumbo?

How do you know alot of the rest of us aren't here to just have fun like you? I rarely even pay any attention to things like pennies earned, best responses, or even my star rating. Who cares? This is just fun and entertaining. Kind of like doing the crossword puzzle. LOL And maybe we enjoy some of the silly questions to give our tired brains a rest. I mean there are plenty of serious topics out there if people want to respond to those they can. As for do I enjoy this? I wouldn't be here if I didn't.

True but when I post a serious topic most people stay away from it. Well not entirely true but serious topic is good for mind exercise and sometimes I get a chance to express my feelings about something even if no one listens.

I'm basially here for the social networking, and because I'm a 64yo pensioner with health issues, and the money I earn is just a useful little bit of pocket money for doing something I enjoy. If you check my friends list you'll find it's not huge, I deliberately keep it that way, and most of those on it I have regular contact with through these discussions. And yes, the stupidity and banality of most posters does get to me sometimes, but those I do react with are far from stupid or banal, so the others can do as they please. Lash

Like grandpa_lash I'm here just to earn a little pocket money. I'm disabled and being able to post here to have fun and to focus on something else besides me, gives me a way to stretch my mind a little. Like I said in another discussion, I don't think anyone is here to make enough money to retire on. This is just for fun and friends. DCMerkle

No one is going to get rich on this or any other site like it. There are plenty of "free" ..meaning not for pay message forums out there that are much more specfic to people's interests. I joined this one in order to see if I could get a little extra spending money. But I have found the site is just too big and does not have a lot I am interested in. I will probably keep coming back now and again, but my own pay outs will certainly be few and far between.

I agree with you too. no one should use this site as a source of earning. I too am using this to enjoy posting like you are and I do have an offline job like everybody else in here. What I do not do in here is insulting other people's post whether they posted lamely or what because they are people too maybe lame or ignorant but you just have to respect them. I would have much fun in here if my post would not insult others and just say anything that is not insulting to others. Myabe Mylot made this a penny income exactly because they don't want people to rely on this to earn their living and I cannot complain anymore since they have paid me already several times and for that I am grateful enough to enjoy this site as much whether I got a record breaking earnings or not I still enjoy writing something.

You have an interesting point to make and I agree with you that some of the members just post or start a new discusion on any trivial or meaningless topic and others come as a shark to grab the opportunity. Having said that I would add that you just cannot put a restriction on any member, since it is an open forum, where anybody can post anything, people avail the opportunity. I on my part, try my best, on most of the occasions, to respond to a post with all my sincerity and try to infuse some meaningful thoughts in it. Also, whenever I start a new post, I make it a point that it should be relevant and others could say something substantial on the topic. Besides, when I receive responses, I carefully go through them and those who deserved to be commented upon are commented and appreciated by me.

Sorry to agree, but I agree that this is a lot of time and effort if you are trying to make a living out of it. I am here for the fun, but it is nice every now and then to get a few quid into paypal, then I can buy something on ebay for myself and I feel like it's free - great feeling. I do have a regular job so this is just brain down time. Just need a rest from the norm, so enjoy chatting on mylot. :)

I see what you are saying, I think everyone has a different agenda for using htis website. I think it's not easy to make alot of money using this thing and it's pointless to make your only efort for the outcome. It's cool to just have fun and post blogs and have others who are willing to post interesting blogs right along with you and share them together.

Well you can hardly make a living from MyLot! It is a really great site though and I enjoy responding to the discussions and occasionally starting my own. The pocket money that comes with it is part of the fun, just to see how much you have earned each day. I don't know how many people do it just for the money, I don't think that would be enough for me to do it, like I said I am part of MyLot because it is interesting, fun and I have made some friends.

I too, have noticed an almost obseesive desire from some mylotters to make money. But we have to realise that to people posting from other countries, that when the money is exchanged into their own local currency then they earn enough to help make ends meet. I will give you an example. In my adopted country we get nearly 80 dollars in our own currency for one US Dollar. Do you see where I am going with this? I have made payment but am letting it grow so when I go to the USA next year there will be a little extra for me to spend. I do enjoy having discussions and also enjoy the humour too. Most of all, I am happy with the friends that I am making. Blessings

I know about the home jobs as I have a home based business already. I sell products on Amazon with drop shipping. I agree that some people on here do seem to be wasting time and typing up one word answers or whatever which does not seem very fair to the rest of us that use large answers or big discussions. Without seeming to care about the response that they put down. I do try to limit myself to at least 5 responses on here per day because I also do free lance writing and article writing for marketing. So I tend to stay busy doing that.

Yes but the people who only do little answers do not get paid or do not get paid very much at all. I am always surprised when people talk about how little money they make here. I know it does not pay a lot but I earn a great deal more than most people here seem to and I do not post a lot. Or at least I do not think I do but I do not count the number of posts I make in a day. I see some new comers with lots of numbers next to their name complaining they never make any money but it all you do is post one sentence then you are unlikely to get paid for it.

I think people tend to flock to the lighter questions, because they can answer them and it's an escape from every day cares and problems. Personally, I come on here to offer my opinion and get others opinions and advice. I don't come here to make money, because it doesn't add up fast enough. I also tend not participate in threads if too many people have replied and I have nothing interes/new to bring to it.

I just recently got interested in blogging, so I find myLot very interesting. Lots of subjects to throw my opinions at. As far as the money part I signed up under my wife's referral link, so as long as I keep shooting my mouth off, we both make a little extra cash.

It SHOULD be fun! It usually is too. I love it here. Seems we are going though a phase where a lot of new users are just posting for the sake of it but they will get tired and either make some useful discussions or give up. I know it can be annoying but hold tight as I'm sure things will pick up again I don't consider it a job but a fun place to be and te fact that we get paid makes it even more worthwhile. Happy posting!

I think it should be fun too. These are the kind of people I want to blog with. The meaningless one liners are just so boring and annoiying after awhile, and makes me wonder why they really are here. I guess you are right about the new commers just trying to figure it all out. They may think this site pays alot and they stress over it. anywho. Happy Posting to you too!

WOW! sounds like someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I enjoy talking to different people and hearing different views. I am not doing it for the money. I enjoy MyLot because I find most of the folks Intelligent, polite and interesting. Even the ones I don't agree with some times make me think. I also learn things I was not aware off. As for home jobs, I am very Leary of these. I see you can make a lot of money by paying to learn about rebates. What they don't say is that most if not all the company's that use rebates are going to stop soon. These company's are finding that people would rather buy a product that cost a few cents more then have to go through the hassle of sending in proof of purchase. Most rebates are now in store rebates.

Sheesh, I guess I did wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Thats ok though. it happens. But i really was pretty fed up with all the pointless blogs. It seems to me that alot of people are more interested in the color of the sky on friday then anything else. I dont trust anything that says you'll make alot of money easily. It's a scam if you ask me.

I do. And I think most of the people do, maybe not because of ethics, but because of the star rating which is so unreliable. Anyways, I always take care of what I respond and make sure that the response makes sense, or I quit responding to that discussion altogether. I have received comments saying I talk too much, but that's just me. And yeah as you mentioned there have been a lot of discussions which seem stupid, but it's not really something to crib about. Infact as they give more easier solutions, it's easy to earn from them. But doing that all the time is stupidity to the extremes. bourne

I read ya. It's cool. I just felt a little lost in an ocean of blogging retardness for the past couple days, I was about to find another site but then figured i'd let everyone know what was going on and am very happy to see that im not alone in noticing all this. I never had a problem with my star rating. Weird too cuz i keep reading blogs about the star rating being annoying. Guess i dodged that issue for nowl

I'll be honest in saying that I initally joined mylot as a means to make some extra money, but I definitely don't rely on this site as my main income!! There's no way I could make it on my myLot earnings each month, lol. But I will also admit that I've gotten a lot more than was expected out of myLot as well. I didn't have a clue what it really was until I joined and started looking around. The payout to me is really just a bonus now rather than anything else. I'll admit that I do work my butt off sometimes, trying to maximize my earnings. But I enjoy every minute I'm on here as well. I love reading what other people have to say and what's going through their heads. I love to comment on their discussions and give advice as much as I can. I also turn to myLot a lot of times if I have a situation in my own life that I would like to receive advice on. It's always helpful to me to learn what other people think about things, or to hear how others would handle a situation that I'm going through. It's been very helpful to me. Even though I say I work very hard on here, it's really not that much effort sitting in front of a computer and typing your thoughts, your advice, or whatever it is that's being discussed. The fact that they're paying us for our thoughts is very cool - I've never found another site at all like myLot and am very glad I found myLot!!

i think mylot is cool too. But some people just have nothing to say so they type pointless stuff that looks more like spam to me than anything. Like they're getting their questions out of a children's book or something. Just frusterating is all. I actually joined this site because i wanted to talk to people about things im interested in and it was pretty cool at first, but then the nonsense started and it is hard to find someone who will actually talk to me corherently.

I don't think that anyone is really in here expecting to make alot of money. I'm on disability and this is more of a socializing thing for me since I'm not working anymore. I'm also here to find referrals for my home based business which is also mostly just for something to do & because I love the products and think that we should use products that are healthy for us and for the environment. Many of our household cleaners, soaps, and beauty aids have toxins in them. If you would like to learn more check out some of; my blogs in http://netmom27.blogspot.com.
