Where does the time go?

United States

Last night, I was doing some work on the computer when my husband went to bed. I told him I was just going to finish up and I'd be there in a few minutes. Next thing I know, I look at the clock and it's almost 2 1/2 hours later! It honestly felt like about 20 minutes. How does that happen? Am I that wrapped up in what I am doing? Has this ever happened to you? What were you doing?

Yes, it has happened to me. I was here on mylot, sometimes when we are so deep into what we are doing we never notice how time pass by. I often wonder how fast time has passed that it is almost dawn and i am still on mylot, enjoying my friends discussions and responses. Most of the times i just read on my friends' threads of discussions and comments.

Dear friend, I to had at times felt like this. I hope it would be our mind that moves fast unknowingly. We either two litter and in between go to some other subconscious mind of way of thinking. Hence I do feel it might be ourself or our mind that is making the difference. Always time goes to the past and time is precious, once gone is gone.

It happens to me all the time when I am on the computer. Not just here on myLot, but while I am doing other things online as well. It also happens to me when I am reading a book. I sometimes sit there and read the whole thing in one sitting.

time goes by so soon,i really don't know the reason.but i wonder what does your life like?if everything you already got in your life, you really succeed.in that case,it doesn't matter the time goes by so soon.

Yeah i loos track of time and days, it's not a good thing. I loose site of my appointments and am constantly being remindined of things which gets really irritating but i suppose if i wasn't reminded i may be still forgetting right now! I wish there was some sort of pill or a clock built into our site so that we can always see the time when our see our open like looking into the screen of your mobile phone.

I've had that happen many times. Sometimes its just reading a book and i tink 5 more minutes - 3 hours later its like OMG i shoulda been asleep hours ago. Sometimes its talking to a friend online or on the phone and i realize its been a lot longer than i intended or i was supposed to be somewhere. I find it tends to happen to me when I'm having fun or when i'm deep in thought.
