I went there some years ago and i fell in love with this city.
it's impossible to describe it in just one word: it's something unbelievable and I really advise you to go there.
it's divided by a long river, of which I don't remember the name now.
a part of the city is very modern, it has high skiscrapers and it reminded me New York and others American cities.
The other part is very ancient. there are lots of great temples for example the temple of the Jade's Buddha... there's even a gold statue of buddha! I am not buddhist, but I was overwhelmed by the stature and by the decorations..
there are even wonderful gardens..
