Faith Hill’s reaction to the winner of the Female Vocalist of the Year at last night’s CMA Awards – Carrie Underwood, not Faith Hill – is getting as much attention as the awards themselves. As the camera focused on the nominees, Hill said “What?” when Underwood was announced as the winner.
Hill released a statement this morning: “The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me. For this to become a focus of attention given the talent gathered is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving Female Vocalist of The Year.”
Hill’s manager Gary Borman said she was being “playful while the nominations were being read and playful after.”
