I was online chatting with Jerzgirl when she emailed me this...
"Mom's not good - I was just told her heart rate is dropping and lung capacity is down. My tire is changed and I need to get up there."

So I thought I'd post it here for her, so that we could all rally around again
and send some more of that good positive energy to her Mother, bless her heart
she just has so many dog-gone darn health issues that are going against her, and here
yesterday I was thinking she might actually get to come home and in the blink of an
eye, things change;
Jerzgirl, You know I am keeping your Mom and you in my thoughts and prayer's girl!!

Jerzgirl, although we have just met, I want you to know that I just went down to the sea and prayed for your mother. I do hope that she will be all right and will soon be home. Take care. I have read many of you rpostings and know that there are many in mylot who will be thinking and praying for you and your Mom. Blessings

Cynthiann - I don't know what to say. What a very wonderful thing to have done. Thank you so much. Please read my response below to see how my visit with her went. She has improved this afternoon over this morning, but she'll never be what she was before. I just want her to be able to again enjoy what she is able to of life.

Janice - thank you. I was about to post something myself. My neighbor cued me in on her condition because she was there this morning. A family friend came to change my tire and when I got there, she was breathing on her own again, and her numbers were back up - but she is definitely weakened by everything. The pulmonary specialist confirmed my suspicions that her fall could very well have brought the worst of it on and now it's just trying to keep her on an even keel. They were very pleased that she didn't need to go back on the breathing mask after lunch because initially her numbers dropped as soon as the mask was off. But, she was holding her own all the while I was there. I also finally got to talk to the social worker and her doctor and told them my concerns about her advanced directive/living will and how it was being interpreted on Saturday. They had contacted my cousin, who is her POA and who now lives in Virginia. He told them that whatever Mom wanted was what they should do. Good! What Mom wants is to live and to have a quality of life that she can enjoy, even though she doesn't like her limitations. She just plain loves life and loves all the simple pleasures she gets to enjoy. Once she can no longer participate in life, she'll be done. She doesn't want to be just a living body - she wants to be a living person. So, it's agreed that is how she'll be dealt with now. I am so relieved!! Once she gets to where they can feel good about her coming home, they will allow her to come home. I have asked them about getting her a bipap mask for home. I know how to put it on - if it helps keep her out of the hospital, then that's what we should have. But, you're right - in the blink of an eye, the entire thing could change and I'm not at all looking forward to that possibility. Not at all. But, things will be what they will be and, God willing, I'll deal with it.

Hey Girlfriend! Well I'm glad to hear that your cousin has been contacted and that alone must be a bit of relief for you and your Mom; Glad to hear she is doing better again, lets hope it just keeps improving now...Bless her heart!!
Yeah I hope they do send home with you one of those darn masks I don't see why
they wouldn't in case of an emergency type situation!
get some rest, I know you need it!!

Glad too hear your Mother is doing better. Ask if they have the bipap nose piece instead of the mask. My Mother was able to tolerate the mask for awhile, but once she got phobic about it she could no longer wear it. The nose mask is smaller and doesn't feel as confining. Also make sure they update the living will, just to head off problems. If you can discuss situations with your Mother and what she would want done. My Mother got real bad for awhile, nurses and Doctors were saying it was close and if I wanted to remove medical devices. Lucky she improved as we were having to make that decission for her.
I know how hard it is, and the road ahead will be harder but in different ways. Enjoy the time you have with her, listen to her stories and keep them all in your mind and heart.
I will pray for your Mother, You and your whole family.

I am glad she is doing better the best of luck to you and your family. You are very welcome for the kind words and prayers. I can relate to how you feel and it is a disturbing place to be especially at this time of year. I don't even like to think about breathing masks this year.

Oh no, sure do hate to hear this. I also thought she was on her way to coming home soon and now this. Thank goodness she got her tire changed also so she can get going and not have to wait for a ride. I will for sure keep the energy going her way and hopefully it will make it to her and give her the strength to fight.
Thank you for passing the word on to us.

HI Tyc: Yeah me too, that's the way it goes though; Yeah I thought yesterday
she was getting her tire fixed , I didn't feel the greatest and went to bed
very very early last night so I guess whoever was to come over yesterday apparently
never made it but I'm glad its fixed now, that's the last thing she needs;
when it rains it pours right?

The tire's not fixed - I'm running on a nearly bald donut right now, but I have to buy a tire tomorrow some time and get an oil change. But, at least I can do that now. I was also able to visit Mom and talk to her social worker and doctor about her coming home ultimately and what we will need for her when she does. Unless everything goes south from here, I do think she'll be home again. But, she'll be far weaker than she ever was before. It'll be a day at a time from here on out. Thanks, tyc!! Jan and you and everyone are so very kind and wonderful!

I am sorry to hear about Jerzgirls mother but at least she can go be with her now. This is a terrible time of year to have those you love ill. She has my heart felt sympathy I was dealing with a similar thing with my grandmother in early Dec of last year. Both her and her mother are in my prayers.

Within 30 minutes of the tire being changed, it began to sleet here. But, the roads weren't too bad to or from the hospital - only traffic sucked coming home - all the loons are out when it's rush hour combined with bad weather. Mom's current condition isn't good, but I talk a little about it in my response below. Thanks, Scarlet. I do so appreciate the kind words and prayers.

HI {{Opal darlin}}, You my dear lady are a great person too!! {{hugs}}
Well you know how it goes, when any of us are in a hospital things just go back
and forth and back and forth. But I think her Mom is doing better last time
we chatted, and I hope so for today too;
I still like your cute Christmassy avatar now...so cute!!
