What is the best scary movie you have ever seen?

Recently I have been in a scary movie mood, but I never can make a decision as to which movie I want to watch. It seems like each "Scariest Movies Ever" list I have ever looked at has different movies on it. Obviously the scary factor of a movie is entirely subjective, but I am interested to know what your favorite scary movie is. Which is the best? Which is the scariest? (Perhaps the best one you have seen is not the scariest one you have seen?)
My favorite scary movies are The Ring and Halloween. I also like an scary movie that makes you think or wonder or messes with your mind. I am not much for slasher films with lots of gore and no plot. (I did like Saw though. Go figure.) Anyway, please share your scary movie picks with me. :)

I don't remember the name but it was something like Moon Cannibals. Also,it was not as scary as gory and evil plus keep in mind that I was 8 years old lol
Grown ups were watching it and for some reason they forgot too shoo me and my cousin out so we had to run to another room to catch our breath every 5 minutes... Worst thing that I remember seeing some man being tied down to a tree in order to become an ant feast. Ugh!...

Recently, I watched "Mirrors". It is the scariest movie I watched in 2008! You should watch it. Now, I wouldn't dare to look at the mirror at night. I like Japan horror movie... "Ju-On" is the best!!! I think "The Exorcist" still top on the board.
