Is Microsoft OS, worthy over Macintosh OS?

I have been using OS from microsoft since my computer life began, and due to the unavailability of proper hardware and equipments in our country, i was never able to test any other operating system. Since, some of my friends have used other operating systems, while travelling, they seem to be criticizing Microsoft's OSs. They happen to claim that Macintosh OS is far better than that of Microsoft, to handle graphics and the speed is comparatively fast too. But since, i am unable to experience it on my own, I would kindly like to request from any of you have seen the difference to express here! There is no rule/restriction here, everyone is free to right their expressions so long as that do not violate the rules of MyLot!
