I used to sell Avon. The only tip I can give you is get your name out there in your town and get some repeat customers.

Yes... Agreed, get your name out and about. Friends at work was a good source for me also. And the local pub, club, or wherever you socialise!!!! It is a good product Promote it!

I agree with all the above, but most importantly, make sure you always collect when you say you will and deliver when you say you will, if you're going to be late with an order or anything, ring the customer and let them know, always be polite, even if someone doesn't deserve it, you need their custom, they don't need your service, it's something of a want rather than a need. I've found that when my customers got to know me, they specifically ordered from me rather than from the shops, because they wanted to help me out, which was very nice of them, the other thing you should do is, if you can't get to your customers when you say you will and can't ring them to say you're not going to get to them, apologise for not being there and explain why, your customers will appreciate that, they also appreciate honesty, but not 'no that perfume smells like fly spray', not that sort of thing, they might like the smell of fly spray.

I agree with the above post. Also, you can buy some samples. If people have a sample to try, they tend to be more likely to get stuff. Basically, if people don't know what something is like, they're not going to spend £10 or £20 to try it so popping a sample in with every book might help. Also, keep notes of what certain people buy and, for example, if there's a one person who always buys things which are on offer, point out the offers in the next brochure. Or if someone always orders EDT, try putting a couple of samples of different ones in with their order. Always write in the "message" space on the order forms, such as recommending a certain product and leave the order form inside on that page. Try to go back to people at the same times. Chat to people (some people will keep buying because they just want someone to talk to) Try to be nice to awkward customers but don't let them affect your sales for good customers.
