Global Test Market - Is it worth it?

I am quite close to reaching the minimum marketpoints for cashout at Global Test Market. But I must say that it has taken a really long time for me to reach this point.
I have 900 points now and the minimum to convert to cash is 1000 points. Each point is worth 5 cents. I know that many people have been paid by them. My question is how long do you take to reach 1000 points - weeks, months or years? Do you think it is worth the time to spend it there? Thank you in advance for your response!

I really liked them, recently I am not getting as many invites. I was getting checks about every 3 months.

Every three months is very good! I don't think I qualify for a lot of surveys, that's why I find the number of surveys I get from them is trickling. I have been there for years I think. Okay, there are times when I did not complete the survey because of other work to do, but I have done lots of them. And I still have not reach the minimum marketpoints to convert to cash. Any hints on how to get more surveys from them?

I just try each one of them, even if I know I won't qualify. I at least still get the 5 points. It seems as soon as I do one, one will follow fairly quickly.

I really do love this survey site and haven't really got too many bad words to say about them. Although I haven't been paid myself I have heard many accounts of others being paid so I don't doubt I will get paid one day.
Currently I have exceeded the 1000 points needed to claim payout however because they pay via cheque I am reluctant to claim until I have a fair sum owing. This is mainly because I am a resident from England and my bank charges a hefty fee to make conversions. Have read that they dispatech cheques in your correct countries currency but have decided i'd rather wait until i've earned a little more first just in case. On a couple of other survey sites in the past I have been sent cheques for very small sums of only a few dollar and it would cost me almost ten times that to get it converted....so all in all not really worth cashing in.
In terms of the amount of surveys they send though I really can't complain. Ever since I became a member I regularly recieve survey invitations sometimes two a day if i'm lucky although it does die down a little on the weekends. I'd say I also qualified for about 75 percent of the surveys sent to me which is brilliant when compared to other sites.
Hope my post enlightens and helps some of you....it really is a good site and if your not using it currently and want to earn a little extra it really should be a regular site for you to stay active with.

Thank you MetalChick. You are lucky to be getting two surveys in a day. Sometimes there seems to be s surge and they send 2-3 surveys a day, but most days, it's quite quiet. Anyway, thanks for telling me about the cost of conversion at the banks. I never thought about that. But I guess we will get cheques in our own currencies. I hope the conversion rate is good. I hope to get a few more survey by the end of the month to qualify for cash out. Cheers!

Hi Metalchick, my cheque from GTM was sent in ££s, got £27.95 which is very handy as I did not have to worry about the charges for banking $$s There's the pic of it on my blog as proof...

It took me quite a while to reach payout as I wasn't really doing some of the surveys they'd send me. When I actually started doing them, I reached payout within a couple of months. It seemed the more surveys I did, the more they sent me, almost as if they were willing me to reach payout!
I've noticed though, that I haven't been getting as many recently. It might be because of the Xmas season. Their system is also acting a bit wonky so I think they've been working on that too.
I think it's worth it when you're holding the cheque! As long as you don't depend too much on it, I think the program's a keeper.
take care...

I must tell you that the system has improved since the first time I joined. It is much better now. Getting payout in a couple of months is good. I'm like takign years. Okay, maybe I did not do all teh surveys they gave me. Sometimes I don't qualify and sometimes the survey is already closed by the time I opened them. I guess I need to work on it more, just a few more points till cashout for me!

I really think that Global Test Market is worth the time. I average a check about every 3-4 months and get survey invitations almost daily. I average about 2-4 survey invitations or more per day. Wish I could qualify for every one then I would get a check every month from them but I don't qualify for the full amount very often but the points do add up and I make sure I try each one of them. It sometimes can be a slow process. Last week I just got a check from them for $55 and it sure did help with Christmas and all. They are just one of many survey companies I am with but they are dependable and have paid out every single time I have requested a check. The checks take a long time to come to me but I know I will receive. That is my only complaint with them, wish they had pay pal. Good luck to you and hang in there, the persistance pays.

Wow! So many surveys a day. You must be from the US. Hmm.. I thought so. Just checked your profile. That's wonderful for you. I sure would love to get some surprise checks in the mail. I'm going to do my best and hope that they'd send me some more surveys to make my 1000 points.

I, too, do their surveys. Sometimes I get a ton of them and other times it seems slower. the only problem I have had with them is their surveys can be somewhat boring and repetitive. But other than that I have made some money from them and that alone makes it worth it.

HI there Lefty,
So how do I learn to qualify for surveys. Do you have any tips for me? I have been trying to do as many surveys as possible, but don't qualify for many.

Hmm... I have been with Global Test Market for a while now. I sort of lost track of how many points I have. But it take quite a while and I am still not qualified to get a payout yet.
But the surveys they are sending to my mailbox. So I do not have to actively go seek them out for surverys. As long as I see it in my mailbox, I will do the survey and get the points. As long as the surveys are coming, I will do it till I qualify for payment. And if they pay me as promised, I will stay with the program for as long as they are sending me surveys and payments.
One more hundred points to reach payout. I am sure you will reach it pretty soon!

Yup! Sometimes we just have to stick to those sites which are legit and pay. I have been doing their surveys on and off, rather inconsistent, so really my fault if I have not reached payout after all these years.
I hope I don't have to wait very long for my 100 points. Probably just one or two surveys that I fully qualify would be great! You should check out your points, maybe you have already qualified for payout... All the best!

Though I'm a member of this site since very long, I've not yet able to accumulate minimum market points as I'm from India and there very few or no surveys are available to us.

I am also residing in Singapore, and joined Global Test Market two years ago in November. I have been occasionally getting survey invitations but nearly half the time, my demographics don't qualify me to take the complete survey and earn the market points. In these two years, I have been paid twice (that is USD$100) and I am nearly half way to reaching my third 1000 points for a payout. I think for us here in Singapore, there are not that many survey sites that we can actively participate in to earn some money, and Global Test Market is one of them.

I guess so. It's better to do surveys from the local companies. But I have not been getting much from them either. Hopefully after the holiday season is over, there will be more opportunities.

Sydney, another site relevant to SG members is MySurveyASIA. I like this site although I don't get too many surveys from them, about nearly as much as GTM. I joined this site in Feb 2007, and to date, I have earned around 3,100 points, which allowed me to exchange for $20 BEST voucher and $40 IKEA voucher. It generally takes about 4 to 6 weeks for vouchers redeemed to be received in the mail. You may want to give this site a try.

5 surveys a week is great. I don't get that many and many of those I got I don't qualify. As such I'm accummulating a few points here and there. BUt I seem to be getting a few more lately. Hopefully I will get to cash out soon. It's been such a long wait for me.

Try referring your close friends to this site. Its worth it as you get 20 points per successful referral made.
so if you refer 5 people to the site, you'll get 100 points, since said you have 900 points, to reach the payout quicker.
log into your account and go to this http://globaltestmarket.com/tellafriend.php
to refer people.

Global test market is really worth it, i just got my check few days ago $115, no bad for a survey site. I managed to accumulate several thousand point before cash out, this is the second time i received from them. Although the check can take 6-8 weeks to reach you, it is definitely a trusted site if you do not mind the long wait, bottom line is they really paid their members as promised.

I guessed it. You're from the US. There is definitely more survey opportunities for you guys. Thank your shining stars! Anyway, I'm going to bear with it until I get my $50 and reconsider whether I want to continue with this site. The thing is it does pay, which is a good thing.

You are right, i got several a day, but after several minutes of screening question, mostly not qualified for the survey. Anyway, sometimes they credited me 5 points for that initial question, so it add up after a while; that is why i will say global test market is a fair survey site and one of the best survey site online. i have no complain about it in term of them fulfilling their promises to us - the members.

Soon enough, tehre will be some for you. I'm from Asia too and I do get some surveys from time to time. I know that it takes a lot of patience, but it's just taking forever to accumulate enough points to cash out. It is not a site I would really concentrate on though. If there is a survey and I have teh time, I'd do it. If not, then I'd let it go. I must have let go too many surveys during my busy periods or I would have reached cashout by now. Try and see if there are any local survey companies in your country.

LOL! We are in the same boat. I have been with GTM for years and get very few surveys from them. Anyway, you should check your account one of these days. It might just surprise you.
Since they changed the email format not to include the points you have in your account, I didn't know what I had and decided to check just recently. Mayeb you should too.

[i]Hello SyneyHazelton,
I don't care about the wait as long as the sites is paying. I have some sites that are also about a year now since I joined and I have not reach payout. I have some survey sites but I am not getting any survey from them. It seems global test market is worth my time. I'll go check it out. If you are interested you can PM me your link and if I find it alright, I will try to join under you.

It has taken me more than two years still i have not made more than 200 points. They also send surveys at a slow rate in India.I try yo be honest while participating in the survey.Thats why it takes me lot of time to get points.

I try to be honest as well. Maybe some people just fake details in order to get more surveys. Up till now, I still have not gotten many surveys from them to complete the 90 points I need to cash out. Anyway, thank you for responding!

I have been with them for awhile now...and I admit I stopped responding to their surveys because I never seemed to qualify and after spending the time to find out if I qualify and not receiving any points began to frustrate me. Now I think they give you some points for the qualifying portion of the survey. My points are very low on there somewhere in the 100 range...so you are doing better than me on there.
I am gonna give them a few more month before I quit with them.
