What would you want your first tattoo to be?

My first tattoo is going to be of my boyfriend's name. Silly it may seem, and I would've agreed if someone told me they were going to do that. But, this one is different. I live with him, and things are great. Of course everyone argues sometimes. But, again it's different and for our anniversary we're each going to get tattoos of each other's names. It will say "Eddie's Girl" although I'm not sur ewhat font to use. His will say "Jackie's Man" yup. So what are you're thoughts?

If I had the guts, I would tattoo an East Indian design on the top of my hand - like they do for weddings, only mine would be little interwoven lizards and grape vines.

i was in love with a guy.... my first love.... and his nick name was MAD DOG.... there was a nice little crazy dog drawing he had done for himself and finally also got a tattoo too of it.... on his right arm.....
when i was thinking of getting a tattoo it came to my mind that i would want to get a MAD DOG tattoo first and then go for other tattoos.....
maybe its the love that i still have for him ....
or maybe its just that i love that tattoo which he had gotten.....
i dont know what it is but if i do start any tattoo then the first one is definately going to be a MAD DOG !!

That's a great story =] i love when people can give me a story behind a tattoo. it's so interesting. That sounds like a good tattoo to start off with especially since it means something deep =] thanks for sharing

well i know its a good story but it is very true... wish i could draw the mad dog and show it to you but i guess maybe i wouldnt cos its so cute that there are already too many people wanting to do it... :(
i wouldnt have mind the sharing part of the design if it hadnt meant so much to me.....
but sometimes i wonder should i really get it done or not cos he and me are seperated now... i mean we were never married ..... but he is to someone else now.... would it be wrong on my part to have the same tattoo as his cos im still in love with him ?

i'm sorry but im not really into tattoo thing. it's nice to know that you both have some different kind of expression of love. i've heard that tattoos hurt and i can't bear the pain if i'll have that. they also said that there are adverse effects of having them especially the dyes that are being used. While most tattoo dyes are made from color additives that have been approved for cosmetics, none have been approved for skin injections. When a person chooses to get a tattoo, one must be aware of the risks associated with it. A spur of the moment or uneducated decision could lead to complications later on. When choosing a tattooist, it is important to ask questions and make sure that they are following proper sanitation procedures. A safety cautious tattooist will gladly share this information with you. If not, go somewhere else.did i say too many already well, im sorry im just being concerned here. it's still a matter of one's choice. Good luck pal.

I get so excited thinking of getting tattoos. I have several ideas in mind. They're always changing, but that is okay. I should have a while to think! I probably will not have the money for a tattoo for maybe a year or so. Maybe I will get lucky and it will be sooner, though. :)
The first idea is of a cobra snake. Snakes represent many things for me. Serpents are known for offering knowledge. I think everyone knows where this comes from. The snake is also my Chinese zodiac, coincidentally. Though, I do not believe in that. Snakes symbolize change, for the obvious reason that they shed skin, and leave it behind. I am fascinated by the pharaohs, too, whom wore a cobra on their headpiece. This cobra represented a goddess, for them. I consider myself a goddess(figuratively, of course). I would want this tattoo to be colorful. I possibly want this with a sun, a crown, or a sort of halo; so it would be like crowning knowledge, or illuminating knowledge.
A second concept I had was for a tree. I love trees. They stand for growth. I am all about growing emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually (in my definition). Alex Grey, one of my favorite artists, painted a beautiful seen of a tree with a lot of meaning.
I also plan on getting a tattoo of one of my favorite quotes. It is from a poem by Rumi. I think it would give me hope in difficult circumstances.

Something I wouldn't regret ... but it's your choice.
I love the Alice in Chains sun logo and symbolic gothic art.
