Most of the time, I do. When I am into it, I use my hand to cover my eyes, seldom I use pillow or anything else.
I think this habit develop from myself since I was in hostel 3 years ago. Almost everyday, my room mate sleep late so the lights turn on. To keep my eyes from the glare, I use my hand to cover my eyes. Now, even in dark, I still cover my eyes.

Well sometimes I cover my eyes and sometimes I don't it just really all depends on how I am feeling. At times if I am tired enough I can fall asleep anywhere. But if I have a real bad migraine then I cover my eyes with a damp washcloth or paper towel.

Oh my, i thought your avatar is something else! It made me lose my focus on this discussion for awhile lol! Going back, isn't washcloth a bit too uncomfortable especially when you're about to sleep? I'm using my forearm or the pillow to cover my eyes.

I, too, need darkness or at least no light shining into my eyes to sleep. Should I try to take a nap during the day, I usually will pull the covers over my head. I have a mask that I use to shut out the light during the relaxation period at the end of the yoga class.

I don't have any problems with the lights around me.. I usually sleep with my face down so or facing a side where the light of the moon doesn't reflect, then I sleep without any problem.. Sometimes I need the moon light to sleep because sometimes I feel like something grabs me and pulls me off the bed and I need to see if something is there or not.. Of course, nothing is there and then I cannot sleep anymore, but I need to asure that I can see something if I suddenly wake up

I do that when I go to sleep and my PC is still on; I do that occasionally to listen to music. I find the light coming from the monitor to be quite harmful to my eyes, especially if it is dark. However I don't put my arm, I'd rather cover my eyes with a pillow, or some cloth.

I only do that when the lights aren't turned off :D I can't get a deep sleep when the surrounding is too bright. I like it dim, but not totally dark so I still would rather turn off the lights and turn on the night light that cover my eyes to totally shut down everything.
Thanks for the comment on my discussion!

I cover my eyes with my eyelids.LOL!I think you are talking about a little nap in your free time.Every body has his own posture to sleep with which they feel comfort to sleep.I dont have a steady posture like you, falling into sleep resting your hands on your eyes.I lay down straight first, turn left ,round, face down, face up...I will be turning around and around until I get into sleep.Cheers!

Yes, I cover my eyes with a pillow because I always leave the lights on. =)

I cover my eyes with a blanket that I sleep with...I have to have it to sleep. I won't even let my husband sleep with because I am so afraid of something happening to it. Every once in a while I put it over both of us and he loves it and says it is so easy to fall asleep with. I have a certain way that I wrap it around my arm and cover my eyes with it but only my eyes and forehead. My husband thinks hysterical, I just turned 37 and even my mom cannot believe I still sleep like that.

No, I do not sleep with my eyes covered. I cannot sleep with anything over my head or eyes.

I don't cover my face with anything. Excessive light and noise do not bother me at all when I need to sleep; I can even drink strong coffee just before bedtime and it doesn't cause me any insomnia.

I cannot cover my eyes with anything when I want to get some sleep.
When I was younger, I bought a really cute eye mask that I intended to use for sleeping. I found that I could not stand to have it on. I thought it would be helpful, because I like to sleep in the dark, but I found that it had the opposite effect.
I have also tried covering my eyes with a pillow, but I have found that it had the same effect as the eye mask. I guess I just don't like anything to hinder my sight.
