Back in the days when i was a kid, my aunt reprimanded me for resting my feet on the living room table. Is it unethical even if it's at the comfort of our home where we unwind? Sometimes we just feel lazy and resting out feet on the table kind of gives us a relief from stresses of life.

i dont think it is unethical to do that..... its your living room and your table but what is un ethical is probably doing that when there is someone else in front of of you or some one is with you..... then i think that would be rather called as mannerless....
especially when the person who is with you is elder to you then i think i would call it unethical.....
but normally if you are alone at home or there are just a couple of friends or cousins then it wont be considered unethical according to me !!

i don't think it's unethical as long as there's no visitors around or you don't have food on top of the table because sometimes we like to eat something when we're in the dining area. it's definitely okay. maybe your aunt think that your feet is dirty that's why she doesn't want you to rest you feet on the table.

Modstar, I do not know about that. I can tell you this there are some people who still do not like people to rest their feet on their coffee tables I would guess it is so that they will not damage their furniture. I have an uncle who insist on putting his feet up on my table and tell him if it breaks he is going to buy me another one.

I think it is because the living room is not supposed to be a resting place. You must find another room to relax, preferrably your bed room. Also it is taken to be disrespect in some families to rest your feet on a table, while the others are sitting in normal postures. And it was like showing your superiority there, your aunt disliked then.Have a good day!

Ah huh! It's a different story when there are visitors. My aunt dislike me eversince because she's the strict type. I can't move pretty well when she's around. She even comment on the way i wash my hand , i mean she must give me a break because this is my body and i know how to take care of myself more than she can take care of me.

Unethical? I hardly think so. It's none of anyone's business if you put your feet on your own table! Who the heck cares? Maybe your aunt just didn't like it for whatever reason. If I want to kick back, and put my feet up, I do!
You've had some good questions on here! Love the one about the "toys".

Ummm.. the "toys" belong to Luv lol! But i'm glad you appreciate my discussions! Yeah i highly agree with you! Who cares? Sometimes we need to kick back and relax and we can't do it anywhere better than at the comfort of our homes. I mean just let it go! Do we need to poise our body while sleeping? It's the same as resting at home. The answer is no. Maybe you can try to look for my discussions ages ago. I'm sure you'll love them you if you love anything similar to threesomes or toys.

I think it is culture and one belief that play in along in our mind. Your aunt may believe that putting feet on the living room table brings bad luck, or she may think that it is some sort of lazy people that only do that.
But for me, putting feet on living room table is ethical as long as my feet does not pointing on food on the table. I did sometimes when I want massage my feet.
Anyways, I think now you can freely put your feet on your living room table, right?

Well, i think if it is your own home... then it is okay to rest your feet on the living room table... since there is no one to offend... and you can clean the table whey you are fully rested...
But if it is the home of another person... then i find it unethical to just rest the feet on top of the living room table... that is jusp plain rude...

Yeah no you can't put your feet on table. Put them on foot stool as that is what they are made for. My table is very nice and if my son even thought about it. Ouch. I don't have a lot of nice things and that is the only one I do have. So for me keep your feet off or go to your room. I have plenty of chairs with foot stool. So I just make them move. My friends Husband did that and I told him hey your not a home show some respect. Your friend onlydia.

When I forget and put my feet up on the coffee table in my Mother's living room she still tells me "Don't put your feet on the coffee table". And, she is 84 years old and it still bothers her till this day. She will say that you know you don't your feet on my coffee table.
