Hi friends.......most of us here are adults now, married and settled and busy with our day to day life. But do you sometimes miss your school days. Those heavy school bags, books & notebooks, geometry boxes, small tiffin box, water bottle...lol, scary home works........freely laughing and playing with school friends. Those little pranks...and sleeping soundly without any worries.... Or those college days.......full of life and dreams and etc etc.... do you miss those days.....I do sometimes......what about you all

Nice you see you after awhile. Hope you are doing well.
I do not miss my college days much. Not as much as I do my school life. School days were fun, full of happenings and fun. We had a gang and we just used to freak out and to top that when we topped in the subjects, others were just awestruck! I was good in sports and creativity and dance and the House competitions were the events we look up to. It was done in a grand way and the all the ex-students , who are themselves big name in the society used to come. I just love those fun filled, tension free life! School days always bring back fond memories and we friends are in touch still.

I'm not really an adult being only seventeen years old but I did drop out of school a couple of months ago and I don't miss it at all. I'm glad that I don't have to wake up early every morning to go to a place that I hate where I am surrounded by people that I don't know and people that I don't want to know. When I was in school I really only had a couple of close friends that went there with me and I didn't even really have any classes with them so I figured what's the point. I'm glad that I am no longer in school and I'm glad that I can now do my own personal research and be surrounded by fake people like in high school.

Oh yes school and college days are perhaps the best period in our lives. It was so exciting, blossoming from a kid to a teenager in college. In the process learning, developing friendships, fightings, etc etc action and enjoyment packed schedule with no worries apart from doing well during exams. The whole life changes when we think we have settled enter our own family and professional lives.

I definitely miss my college days. Those days were full of fun. College days were very interesting and adult life can never become a proper substitute for the college days.
It is a pity why adults cannot have such fun. The spirit of college teenagers is so high that it cannot even be described.

Yes, I do miss my school days. There is no question of not missing those wonderful days, when we were only required to do studies and studies and would play a lot. There were no other responsibilities and everything used to be looked after by the elders or parents in the house. Sometimes, I see those school days in my dreams - "as am sitting in the class and taking down the notes and suddenly one of my friends tells me that exams are starting day after tomorrow and we have not prepared for those exams at all, because we were busy in cricket matches and I feel scared in my dreams that how would we appear in the exams, without any preparations."
When I look back, I still wish that why cannot I be a student again. Now, we realise how our teachers used to tell us - "how much important are the studies for us and we should always keep the fire burning for learning one thing or the other." I still desire to learn, whatever new subject I can learn and whenever a chance arises to go on any official training, I do not miss the opportunity. I just enroll myself in the training and try to learn some new subjects over there.
Would like to share one funny incident from our schoold days. Once, our vice Principal was teaching in the class and we were sitting in the second row, one of my dear friends who was sitting along with me, was very talktive and would not keep quiet even in front of a teacher. I had warned him - "Look the Vice Principal is taking the class, so you should remain silent and listen to him". But he was incorrigible, he could not control himself and started talking to me and to our horror, the Vice Prinicpal who was teaching the class with his full concentration, noticed us and he got furious and asked us to stand on the benches, in front of the entire class, you can imagine, how embarassing it was for us to stand on the bences....LOL! So it is impossible to forget those memorable days till we are alive.
An Excellent Post!

LOL! You can still imagine a student like Deepak standing on the bench with his eyes on the earth and feeling guilty of disturbing the class..........!!!
Yes, those days cannot came again, however, we can always cherish memories of the days gone by. No one can stop us from enjoying and cherishing our memories.

Yes I do miss them, especially after seeing my son going to LKG. As you said those days our only worry was home work and tests. But now every day and every hour is filled tension and worries. But unfortunately we'll never get to relive those (wonder years) days once again.

Yes, when in School and college we all thought of work would mean freedom and marriage as heaven. Both now seem to be a big illusion. Now we are yearning for the years back in college and school

Yes ofcourse, i do miss my school days as well as my college days. And i bet, no one here would deny the same. Schol days were good. Though I still remember the time, i used to study whole day, but then there was no tension in life. I had a lot of friends, and even today i am still in touch with some of them. I used to had a competition in studies with my classmates. But studies and sports and other leisure activites went hand in hand. I still remember those days, when we would just eat up our friend's tiffin in the fourth period of the day itself. And then those zero periods for practising for cultural activities, i just loved them. It was fun being at school. college days we good either. Playing games on my computer till late night, missing my breakfast and early morning classes next day, and then going back to sleep after lunch and bunking the late afternoon classes,, that was fun. But hey, i would still manage to pass my exams witha good percentage..
I had dreams and aspirations when i was in school and college, and today being in a job, all my dreams seem to be shattered.
I really miss that lovely time!

Hi Vipul, how are you.
It is nice to read that you liked your school and college life. But why do you feel that your dreams have shattered....start thinking positive and see how your dreams will start coming true one by one. You know you cannot go back to past, so why not plan your present happily....so that future will be great........Thanks for your reply.

My school and college days were far more better than the present. I agree, with you that i should rather try to make my present happening then to relive the past. And believe me, I am trying to do so. thank you for your support!

Hi Aps .....this discussion is making me nostalgic.Yes I do sometimes travel down memory lane and when I look through my old albums I do smile when I see myself in pigtails and skirt, and those wonderful days I had in school .But my college days were the best and it is there that I learnt to be independent and I used to be a real prankster, and ued to be in the fore front in all activities, without letting it shadow my academic performance......Those where such wonderful days,, full of fun with not a care in the world and I used to feel on top of the world.... We used to go on picnics every year ,and had real fun and in my last year of college some of my friends even got married, and sadly I have lost touch with most of them.....

Hi rose...I do believe every word that you have written. If now you can make nari shakti and become jhasi ki rani, or rather mylot ki rani, then I can imagine you in your youth...yeah after marriage it is difficult to remain in touch with old friends, I was even more foolish,, once I got hubby, I did not care for my friends, stupid me.....I don't know why I felt hubby was most important...lol, you see now I have no friends.....I am learning to make friends again here on mylot....

me too.. i mean who doesn't miss his/her college life?.. even though there were times in the past that were not favorable to us like some embarrassing moments or maybe people were bullying us, you cannot escape the fact that there were also fun moments that we had with our classmates. the laughters we shared with each other and the time of our lives that we learned to love truly. college is fun and cool and i really miss a lot!..

Felt a bit nostalgic reading this article. We always used to have guys coming and teaching us when we were in college who used to say just a few years back we were sitting on the other side of the table. College is fun, the friends we made the times we had together, live in your heart for ever. Is college better than school, that depends on the school or schools uve studied in. I personally studied in 3 schools, some where amazing experience some werent.

It was a long time ago that I was in school, but yes I miss those days even though I didn't want to be there at the time! I have done several university courses since adulthood and I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of getting more knowledge into my ageing brain LOL.. Derek

ha ha ha.......you are right derek....knowledge enters brain more easily in adulthood. I will tell you a secret.....I could understand things only when my daughter started her schooling.....since I use to take her lessons, it was like I was doing my schooling...lol. Only while teaching her I learnt so many things which I could not understand when I was in school. I am happy that finally I proved to be a good student....lol

I really miss my friends and especially all those crazy stuff that we used to do.. I miss hating my professors and exams in school.. Everything in school, I just really miss it..

yeah school days are actually very innocent days.....we hate someone for no reason and we love someone for no reason........we fight today and we are friends again tomorrow....it is only when we grow up and grow old, we realise how innocent were our acts and how close we were to God, because God loves innocence and that is why he loves children. Thanks for your reply.
