Do you enjoy a gas or real fireplace?

I am originally from New England and I love a real fireplace! I love to feel the warmth while listening to the crackling! When I lived up there, I always had a fireplace, but here in VA, I don't and I miss it so much! A gas fireplace for me will do in a pinch, but nothing can replace the real thing! What about you? Which do you prefer?

I like the imitation log fires, I was at a restaurant one night that had one and I hinestly thought it was a real log fire, it looked so real, I don't think i could stand the real fires, with all the wood chopping and cleaning, they are a lot of hard work...
