When do you mark the Best Response for a Discussion.?

I usually wait at least 7 days before I mark mine, not everyone can log in everyday, so it gives those an opportunity to respond and maybe get the best response...

Well for me, when it comes to marking the Best Response, very seldom will I mark one as Best Response faster than at least a couple of weeks. For me, I also want to give people a chance to see my discussion and respond to it. Sometimes I end up getting a Better response like you said as well. The only time I will go and mark some of them faster than this, is the instance where when reading over them and responding back to them, I see one and think that one says exactly like I feel or wanted to hear, and then end up marking it sooner. But I am quite behind in choosing my Best Responses so I have a lot of catching up to do still as well.

I usually start 5 to 10 discussions the days I start any. I tend to mark best respponses twice a month for the most part. This gives other members beside my friends a chance as well at earning the BR. I have never really given out a BR quickly unless it was so out there that I knew then it was the one to be rewarded BR. I usually give it two weeks after the last response. However sometimes i get bored and make them before that.

It really depends on the response. If it touches my heart then I give it, if it doesn't then I wait until I get one for the discussion. Probably this is the reason why you will see most of my discussions are unresolved. May I should think different and start giving BR based on some criteria like ranking of the person, number of words and star rating.

I have my own method, I picked a certain number of days and number of responses. When I reach either that many days or that number of responses, I'll mark best response. Sometimes I just forget about it and it takes longer but that's what I try to do.

Hello and good afternoon, friend. I personally have my own criteria in this particular issue. I wouldn't mark the best response until I haven't received at least 8 replies in any of my discussions. Unfortunately, I must admit that I do have a lot of discussions which have less than 8 replies, to date. Further, I also have discussions which have no responses at all, which is worse. Some of them were even created by me a couple of years back. Honestly, I'm quite worried about my 'unresolved' category full of these discussions. In fact, I even started a discussion entitled, 'how do I delete discussions with no responses?' a couple of weeks ago. Sadly enough, most of the respondents said that it's not quite possible to delete them. So, I don't have any other choice but to wait for those discussions to be responded or for them to gain at least 8 replies. But I'm still not giving up hope. I believe sooner or later, some other mylotters would take notice of them and eventually, they'll be replied to. Happy holidays, friend.

Hello, balacancer22! I believe that it is safe to assume that you can mark your best response, in any of your discussion, after 48 hours without getting any more response. This way, you can be sure that people are probably not going to answer to it anymore. Then you mark it, and if somebody elses respond, then you just comment if needed. Some people wait too much, like months. Some people do not wait at all. Discussions created five hours ago and are already marked with the best response. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

I don't really start that much discussions so therefore I don't really need to mark a lot of best responses. I mark the best response if there is one response that jumps out.

If i get a very satisfying answer then immediately otherwise wait for 2-3 days and if i think there's something relevant in all i get,then only.If the replies are not matching the real query i dont mark.I am new here,for quite some time didnt know such things.But now have understood few things here and made it a point to rate people and mark the response.I think that i should wait for some more days from now on to mark the best response.

i think that it is better to wait "n" number of days than count responses before picking the best response. I normally wait 3-4 days before picking the best response. I also look for original content, really helpful tips & preferably humour to select the best response. If someone has taken extra pain to re-respond to my comment that person has a very good chance to get best response in my books.(as we all know that we do not get paid for responding to comments)

For me, it is hard to mark best response. So, until now, I have not mark any. I am thinking of waiting for two weeks after my discussion being posted. It is fairly long for me to wait for people to response to it. Based on the quality and the thought given, I'll mark the best response. But still, it is not an easy job for me.

I would give a duration of time for which I think it should be closed. Then, during the time, I would see if the quality satisfy me, if yes, I would wait for another three to ten response and if there has better response, then maybe I could delay, if not, that is the time...

I give the best response after receiving enough number of responses and I have spotted that one of them already deserves to be awarded. It sometimes take me a lot of weeks to decide which one would get the BR because there are times when so many have really given very good answers. When that happen I tend to give the BR to whoever was the first who gave the best answer.

For me, I will go to check my discussions after 5 days. But not always mark one if there's not a very good one in my opinion.

I mark a response as best response if i think it is fully according to the Discussion, having touched my heart; and has helped me to solve the discussion. I usually mark them after like say 2-3 weeks!

Maybe that don't have the best response for a discussion i think. Because the way of one's think is different, so maybe the answer is very different. But the best response for a discussion maybe is according to topic to decide.
