Are there days where you forget to do something important?

Today was one of those days. I forgot to volunteer in my sons class from 10.50am - 11.15am. I remembered last night when I checked my calendar and even told my son I'll be joining him in class today, but when today rolled around I completely forgot. I only remembered around 1pm and quickly emailed his teacher to apologise.
I have been so busy with my part time job (crazy hours too) and trying to keep up with the housework and all that I completely forgot about volunteering today. My son was a little dissapointed because I usually stay for lunch afterwards and chat with him and his friends. He says I better make sure I turn up next time!!!!
So has this happened to you? share your stories, thanks.

oh, rozie, people so forgetful like me, will surely wish to be able to share with you this talent of being to remember matters at times when needed. we miss so many appointments and so many opportunities to earn because we forget to show up at the right time. so you do not experience having to write the things that must be done only to forget to even take a peek at the memo? or, you have it at the cellphone setting to ring at the time but then, failed to charge it? you are an envy to me, girl. best of luck in life, honey.

I am not perfect. I told you that it is only because I have yet to remember what I forgot. Oh wait, one just came to me. I forgot where I put my Subway gift card and that bites. I think that I may be home for Christmas. I like that idea, because a lot of my friend's will be here also. So we will be together. My favorite aunt thinks that she will be in the hospital. My older sister is in Atlanta now and I think that my middle sister will be with her in-laws.

Recently a woman came into my job looking for shoe boxes to use for Christmas at a local orphanage. For some reason the company itself will not give out empty boxes, so a friend of mine asked if I could bring some from home. I relented, but was a bit hesitant because she wanted 8 boxes and that meant having to walk with them for 20 minutes and then bring them on the bus. However, considering who was asking, of course, I said yes. The next day, I was waiting on another customer and it suddenly hit me that I had forgotten to bring the shoe boxes. I felt awful. When the woman showed up that evening, I apologized profusely, but I can't begin to tell you how guilty I felt. We agreed that I would bring them the next day and I did, but she never showed to pick them up. So, I still haven't been able to get over the guilt.

This is why I don't volunteer to help out at the school. The only thing I have volunteered for is to drive girls' to a basketball tournament that is within our small town. Because of my illness and inability to get up at a certain time in the mornings, I don't make commitments I'm pretty sure I can't keep. Forgetfulness is another one of my problems.

I had a clear day that day and had put my name down to volunteer the month before. Because I've been so busy with my part time job, I just completely forgot when I had that particular day off. I still feel guilty even though the teacher said it was ok and that I wasn't the only one that had been forgetting to turn up to volunteer.

hello, maddysmommy. of course, i am a very consistently forgetful person. just last monday, a person volunteered to help me with my problem about some checks i have received. since i have been away for so long, i have not claimed them and thus have not encashed any at all. we were supposed to meet at three in the afternoon. too bad, i only remembered about the appointment when it was a little past two pm. since i can no longer show up at the appointed time, i had to call in cancel and request to move the date to wednesday next week. there are a lot more instances about my being so forgetful, even my sons get wary about it, too. very bad, right? i am the one being helped and yet, i am the one who have the guts to forget and put it off. well, it is never intentional. just explain your side to your son, he will understand.

Hi, How are you?
Been a long time.
Hope all is well.
Yes, these things happen.
I had a very important doctors appointment last week.
And in the middle of the night, I remembered I had had
a doctors appointment for my back.
I had totally forgotten about it.
And know I was a day to late.
Next appointment will be in January know.
My doctor does not like it when I forget these things.
Oh well.
Next time better.
Take care.

I've been working crazy hours with my part time job that it just slipped my mind even though I did make note of it the night before. It didn't register with me until lunchtime hit and I remembered I had to be somewhere that day. I guess I need to slow down and take a break now and then. I know my hours will slow down in the New year but still I have to be mindful of other things besides my job. Thanks for your post sameroad.
