When I was growing up, we raised a lot of Cats, and were even taking in a lot of strays any chance we could get as well. When I spent a lot of the yrs. living in the Country, it was never a thing to worry about as most of them were outdoor cats but Good pets to us all as well. I can remember them being a Big part of the family and worrying about them as well. But as for like kids, since I was a child myself I never thought of it this way, but so often I think a lot of people have Pets to keep them from feeling lonely, and a lot of them treat them like a child as well. My neighbor has 5 Cats herself and they are her kids. She watches over them like a hawk and will even go outside and round them up if they are out too long and make sure they are all OK. She even takes time to feed the neighbors cats from time to time and let them in to mingle with hers if they need too from time to time as well. My husband and I do Love cats, and would Love to have one, but we are never home so we right now do not have any animals, but when I married him he had a cat that thought she was human and never wanted to allow me by him most of the time as well. When we had to have her put to sleep it was Sad, but knew it was for the best as well. ~~TINA~~

I own two cats and as much as I hate to say it... I love them. The younger cat is adorable and the older one is annoying. My older cat is just scared of me so anytime I try to give it some loving, it just runs from me. The younger cat can be scared of me sometimes too but it warms up to me faster. I love cats more then dogs though. That's for sure.

Aww I have no kitties. I have a dog. lol Oh man. But I'm kinda scared of cats. cuz I had a bad experience when I was little. I was at my aunt and her cat was walking toward me so i reached out to pet it and it just went all crazy n scratched my handl. I was about 10 at the time..so u could imagine me freaking out and thinking that cats are ferocious things.

My husband and I have 10 cats. Four of them are kittens that one of our adult cats gave birth to in August. The others are mostly strays that we have taken in. We love them all as though they were our children. Right now we have one missing and we have looked everywhere for her, to no avail. My heart is absolutely breaking, and I am really scared for her. She is a beautiful cat, and since we have not found her body, we feel that she is still alive and someone has taken her. She went out to play this past Monday, and we have not seen her since. I cannot describe the sadness I feel over this. I know it is not the same as losing a child, by any means, but she is still very important to us, and we miss her and worry about her so much.

OMG! On Christmas night, as we returned from my husband's family Christmas in Alabama, our Lily was waiting at the door for us! Hubby said it was a Christmas miracle! She was missing for 10 days! I'm so happy! I have no idea where she's been, but she was very thin, and looked so weak and tired. She's looking much better now that she's had three days to eat and rest. Just thought I'd let you know she's home. I was so scared we'd never see her again. *happy happy happy*

When my son got old enough to stop wanting to come into the bathroom every time I was in there, I thought I would now have a bit of privacy. No such luck. Once I'm in this desperate meowing starts and little gray Kiddoe whines and cries until I open the door. If I'm taking a bath she looks in the water, tests it with her paw and gets as close as she dares. Not unlike my son who used to dive bomb his sister's Barbie dolls into the water.

I'll be honest, I don't like cats. What I dislike most is going into someone's house where there are loads of cats and there's hair everywhere. Awful!

I have always had at least one cat. Even when I was a kid. Now that I am grown up we keep at least one cat around to keep the mice away because we live out in the country. I don't neccessarily treat my cat like he is one of the kids. I would miss her if she wasn't around though.

Yes I do own cats, right now I only have two but I did have 5 cats until recently, they are my babies and they have their separate personalities. I have written various stories about my cats and I have also put different discussions about cats here.

Hi Krause, HUbby and I have no cats but we have a regular visitor in the house...AN outdoor cat of our neighbor and I always feed her, she is not very friendly though, like when I wanted to be closer to her and play, she will run...SO, I just leave the food and watch her in our door! I grew up having 2 or more cats in my Parents house...We love them and take care as them as if they are human..My sis will even shower them and they have their own towel and comb... But, when we were busy at school, we stopped spending a lot of time with them, we just play like 5 minutes but whenever we slept, they always want to be in our side!

My cats are my kids. Some more so then others. Taj I found at 4 weeks, he was in my front yard with no mother in sight. The people across the street said they saw him that morning across the street (she's terrified of cats.) Oliver was only a week old when we got him. Solo won't have been born at all if I hadn't taken his mom to the vet to get a c-section. I call Taj my #1 son, and Oliver my #2 son. Solo is my grandson, since we knew who his mom was....

Yeah, Oliver was an orphan, so he got his name. He, like Oliver Twist, made out pretty good after his rocky start, he think's he's a lord!

I have two cats, and they are very special to me. I have a female calico named Scoots, and a black and white long haired male, named Jake. They are really funny and silly fuzzy things. Scoots is rather laid back and moody, Jake is wild and demanding. He taunts Scoots to no end, so my husband and I protects her from him. Jake follows us around the house like a dog, but he is the biggest scardy cat you ever what to see. He is afraid of the vacuum, thunder, and if trucks or motorcycles go back, Jake is gone. I love my cats, and really enjoy them.

We have two cats at present. I've had many cats throughout my life, having had at the most six at one time. When I met my husband, he already had his cat. He had raised her from a tiny kitten, having had to bottle-feed her. She and her brother were found outside without a mother. But, she is the MEANEST thing I've ever come across! This cat will dart out of nowhere and attack! It's not just me she attacks, either... she hates everyone equally, well, except for my husband. After four years together, she 'tolerates' me, usually if I have her treats in my hand or Rice Krispies Treats... she LOVES them! LOL The other cat came to us as a stray last year, right after we moved here. Skinny as a rail, my husband fed him and that was that... he was home. He kind of adopted me. Now, he's a big ol' fat cat, 16 pounds. Not that fat, though... he's BIG with big bones. He has the largest head of any cat I've ever seen. LOL My husband's cat doesn't get along with the new one, Bean. Of course, she hates everyone, especially another cat! But, she tolerates him for the most part. As long as he stays out of her way, she's okay with that and, belive me, he's learned to stay out of her way! Yep, they're like kids. I don't pamper them as much as I pamper our dogs... two Maltese cuties, because, well, they're cats! They're much more independent than dogs, especially Maltese who are known for their love of cuddling. My cat gets along very well with my dogs, but my husband's cat... yeah, you already know.
