1 tablet of 40 mg aspirin can relieve pain from sore throat

This really isn't some scientific breakthrough. It's just a first-aid measure that have been taught to me by my father's friend. First, you crush and dilute the tablet in half a glass of lukewarm water. The measurements don't have to be so accurate, it's only a home remedy. And add 1 to 2 pinches of salt (sodium chloride or table salt) until it dissolves. Then gargle it like you would with a normal saline gargle. It works better than just normal saline. Well, at least for me. But seek your doctor's opinion about this. Aspirin may not be good for you.

40 mg of aspirin is not even enough for it's anti platelets effect. for anti inflammatory effect, a tablet of at least 300mg is required. probably the soothing effect is from the salt gargle.

oh, i see. but really it was more effective for me than when it was just salt. But perhaps just psychological
