Truthfully I smoked a few tokes of a joint when I was in my late thirties but it wasn't to get hi. It was to relieve severe headaches. I had a semi-truck hit right at the door where I was. I had headaches so bad I would bang my head into a wall to get relief. A young man my daughter ran around with knew about my headaches and he gave me a joint. I put off smoking it for a month and then took only two tokes off it. Everytime after that for about a year, if my headache flare up, I would light up. I hated the taste of it but I did it. Just enough to ease the headache. I have had very few headaches since then from the head wound so haven't had to have it around. Now the pain, if you can call it that, is more like the sound of a buzzsaw running. And it is maybe once a year.

i do appreciate your honesty.Im glad your headaches has gotten better.Even though you only have them once a year i think you should see a doctor.I have bad headaches to and went to the doctor and he said it was tension. He gave me some medicine and didnt work.So i changed my diet all around and they stopped.I realize every time i eat a whole bunch of junk my head will hurt so i have it all figured out.

Yes I have and unfortunately I maintained a substance abuse problem for 26 years before I stopped. I've been clean and sober now for 6 years just this month (Nov. 5th). I almost lost everything to my self medication: my wife, my family, and my life. I was homeless for a brief period of time before I got into a board and care and entered into several 12 step groups. I counseled other clients where I resided and was the liason between the clients and the management there. I will for the rest of my life make the decision each and every day to not use. As each day passes it does get easier.
