Who saw the meteor shower?

I live in South Africa and stayed up to watch the Geminid meteor shower last night, but I only saw 2 meteors in about 2 hours. It was not as impressive as previous years, although I think I missed the best days to view it.
You may still be able to view them in the northern hemisphere...so go outside and have a look!

wow! you are very lucky i never saw such a thing in my life! it must have been very beautiful .. but don't these showers don't harm anyone??

if you live in the US, you may be able to see it now.
meteor showers are really beautiful, but it sometimes takes quite a while before you see anything. there are a few websites around that tell you when they are going to happen. you should really try and see one some time.
I doubt if they have ever harmed anyone, they are caused by small rocks and other particles left behind by comets. when the earth passes through these clouds of dust and small stones, they burn up as they hit our atmosphere causing streaks of light in the sky.
