vista is definitely a good one and it overloads the features of the vista go for vista if you have a good supporting pc like you should have a good configured computer like atleast a 2GB RAM and pentium 4 processor or an equivalent AMD processor the graphic processor should be atleast 128MB but runs better with the 256MB video graphic memory i found vista is more secure than XP it is highly advanced and looks cool the background is awesome with cool graphics and various options providind so ease in operating

Hey, Yea sure, I can tell you the difference between Windows XP and Windows Vista. Basically Windows Vista is almost exactly like Windows XP in very very simple words and Vista is just a resource hog, it uses up your RAM doing who knows what! As I have said before, I decided to do a short test. I shut down all applications on my Vista computer and then checked to see how much RAM my computer was uing. When I checked I almost fainted. Vista was using a total of 599MB of RAM while there were no programs running in the background. Talk about a system hog, I advise you to go with Windows XP for the moment until Windows 7 comes out which should be much better than Vista 'or so they say'.

I have used Vista and XP. Both on my older computer as well as on my new computer. From my experience I can tell you that Vista is way better than XP in terms of performance. My old computer was a P4 2GHz processor with 512MB of RAM. I installed Vista on that and without the aero theme, Vista ran faster than XP and I experienced a more responsive system and running programs. I don't know why some people are still supporting XP because today when I use XP, I feel like I am using ages old technology. Vista rocks for me....

there are a lot of issues that vista itself has no solution just yet. I would suggest that you should go on with xp.

I can generally differnciate this like 1.Vista has more visible properties than XP. means It has better look than XP 2.Vista has more securities that XP and these securities can be on or of by Administrator it self 3. Vista I think more professionally designed than XP , means it can be better use in Company than Personally I would suggest XP that Vista for personal used

hi friend whatever you say advantage about vista..i wont accept..because i was regular user of vista....my system is intel dual core processor,2 gb ram, higher end inbuilt graphic card..as u said graphics is good and secure is good..but for regular and business users ,graphics is not necessary..if u install higher end softwares like adobe software..than thats all..system will go very slow..vista takes 1 gb ram usage..whereas xp takes maximum 256mb ram,u can make xp secure like vista by having update from microsoft websites..vista is slow due to having all type of product updates inbuilt inside vista os..all type products like digital camera,printer,ipod,mobile,etc..there are unnecessary inbuilt updates inside vista that makes vista very slow..most of the regular users like this but system get very slow due to that..now many people changing from vista to xp or linux and installing their needed softwares as usual.. thanks adhavgeek

Just over a month ago my system was hit by a virus and I ended up wiping my system. I have a Pentium system with 2 GB of RAM and over 300GB of hard drive space. I had XP previously but thought I might as well go with Vista while I was doing a new install. BIG MISTAKE. I have not been running a system that runs so slow as a Vista setup with only 2GB of ram. It sucks really bad. I used to be able to have a dozen windows open and work without feeling my system was holding be back but now if I have 3 programs open it's like walking through dense mud.

hello there friend... well, there are many advantages and disadvantages of windows vista... let's see what is it... first of all, the most highly disadvantage noticed by all the computer users are the windows vista's high hardware requirement... in order to install windows vista and run it smoothly, you should have AT LEAST 1GB or RAM, 128MB of graphics memory, dual-core processor, DVD burner and also your hardware must pass the windows experience index in the windows vista... this is the basic requirement to run windows vista... imagine what would windows vista ultimate will ask for hardware support... so, this is the one of the biggest disadvantages of windows vista... another disadvantage is the user account control (UAC) in windows vista... every time you want to open a application, the user control account will pop up and ask your confirmation whether you're the one who started the application or not... even when your user account is administrator, the user account control will pop up and always ask your confirmation... this is pretty annoying but in safety and security terms, it's really good way to protect your system... well, another disadvantage is some of the software are not compatible with windows vista yet so maybe you will have some problems when you want to install some software which not compatible with windows vista... you better check the system compatibility before you install windows vista... the advantage of windows vista is its AERO effects... i really like it so much... microsoft completely changed the GUI (graphical user interface) for windows vista... the glass effects and the animation are really nice to look at... because of this, windows vista ask you a lot of hardware support... so make sure you have a good hardware support in order to enjoy this features and benefits... i hope this information will be useful for you... i personally say that windows vista is really nice but you must have a adequate system and hardware requirement before you install windows vista in order to enjoy windows vista to its full power...
