hello there...
well, i was using kaspersky internet security a lot of times... it's really the best anti-virus solution available to protect your system... it scans and detects every virus or unwanted things on your computer... kaspersky updates its definitions every hour so you will get up-to-date anti-virus protection... it monitors every thing you do and every where you go on your computer... if it detects any virus, it stops the virus loading and ask you to preform some action... the firewall also really great... it detects anything which connects to and from the computer... now i'm using ESET smart security... it's also great anti-virus system but it's none compared to kaspersky internet security...

I installed my sister's Norton and had all sorts of trouble with firewalls, receiving emails etc.. although it was an older version and it is probably very much improved now. These days I am using Avg, Adaware,Superspyware and CCleaner. They are all free and they do a great job.

I can't believe no one has mentioned ClamWin here. It runs on both Linux and Windows, is free and open source, runs with a very small footprint, and is a very very nice replacement for the system hogs that Norton and McAfee can be. I'd have to say as far as performance, McAfee has to be the worst. Norton is not as close to being the hog that McAfee is, but is close. AVG is a good AV software, however it I'm going with free, I want totally free and not a crippled version. ClamWin can be found here - http://www.clamwin.com/.

lol runnin 2 antivirus in one computer? why? havent they checked if you already have an Av installed during installation?
runin 2 av could cause problems on you computer..
correct if im wrong but antivirus hold on to the master Record which has the list of all the files on you hard disk.. and only one Av can hold it at a time.. if it gets damaged its like your Hard drive is wiped Clean!!..
i Love AVAST! its the best free AV ever!
havent reinstalled my windows since i bought my computer which is 3+ years..!

I was using both of those too, but do you know that the AVG will be ending the end of Dec.2008? They are going to stop supporting the program. I have tried other anti- virals, the ones that cost money, and to me they don't seem to work any better.

im using spybot search and destroy. its a free ware and it has the ability to auto delete and manual delete when theres anything it detect. and you have to enable the protection file when your updating it. and the best of it. it makes itself idle when its not in used. but when your browsing at the net it will enable itself back then when theres nothing incoming or outgoing connection from your computer it will set itself idle again. in other words it never eats a lot of memory from your computer. it only act when your computer act. but when theres no processing made its in idle mode.

Hello, i use Mcafee total protection it is a very good virus software it protect's your computer alot it tell's you if there's a virus in your computer or if you go on the internet and any appropiate sites which contain virus it will also tell you straight away and it will reccomand you not to vist it. you can also put parent contorls on it if you wish and it will block programs and some internet sites which if you are under age or if it contains virus. you can also scan your computer and tell you if there's viruses it asks you once a week if you would like to scan your computer. you can also update Mcafee total protection and get any new features or versions. it also protects agaisnt network problems e.g hackers, instant messaging softwares ect. you can quick clean up files from internet and hard drive just like windows disk cleanup you can also set task schedules and plus maintain your computer. you can also use Mcafee to defrag your drives. you also can view recent events that Mcafee is doing it will tell you the last time it scanned your computer. you can also restore files, cookies and programs you have deleted. if you like Mcafee you can buy it for around $60. Hope this helps. Have a nice day!!
