I have five dogs and have at times considered purchasing pet insurance for them. With the high price of veternarian care, I thought I might be able to save a few by purchasing a policy. I did look online and even did some research into pet insurance. You can read the article here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1216863/simple_guide_to_pet_insurance.html?cat=53
I ended up not purchasing it because with five dogs, it is probably more economical to just pay for the annual shots and vet bills. Thank goodness that they have been very healthy doggies!
What about you?
Happy MyLotting!

No, it seems like a waste of money to me. Really, it seems like a scam. I looked into it when I just had a Yorkie. They didn't cover any of the major issues Yorkies have, cancer, or having your dog fixed or spayed. I also think they didn't cover certain shots. It really seemed like a waste of money.

Hi char! I know what you mean! I had so many vet bills with
my last 2 cats it was unbelievable! Thankfully these 2 guys
are healthy! The insurance it just too expensive! I did check
it out, but there was no way I could ever have afforded it.
Like you said it is easier (not that it is) to pay for the
shots then pay for the insurance! Are those all your dogs in
the picture? They are beautiful doggies! I am an animal fanatic
just like you are! I would have a house full (if I had a house)
if I could afford to!

wow what an interesting concept, no I never even knew it existed but thank you so much for letting me know. NO I wouldn't get it because I am so poor I don't even have house insurance at this time in my life.

We have had our dog insured against vets bills for 6 of the 7 years of her life.
One of the things you should tak into account is that if you read the small print, as they get older, certain condition may not be covered or they will only pay up once. If the condition recurs you will not get a payout.
You have to balance annual premiums against the risk but as she gets older we will not pay this expense.

Yes I did, but i have too many and it would be to costly for me. but I think for 1 or 2 animals this would be a great investment. But I have 4 dogs and over a dozen cats.
and just the dogs alone would cost close to $200 per month to insure.. not cost effective for me.
