i think it is early to tell which will make it, but there are teams that are showing that they are real contenders to the championship. there are the defending champion boston celtics which are on the 16th winning streak, last year's finalist lakers, cavaliers, hornets, mavericks and spurs. but the playoff can always pull a surprise. it was two years ago, when the mavericks who owned the league's best record after the regular season was toppled by the lowly golden state warriors in the first round of the playoff. so im still open to surprises. and im ready to be surprised by hawks and blazers.

Yes,it is hard to tell now,and this is why it's interesting,NBA is the place"where amazing happens",and you never know what gonna happen, just as last season, most people think the Lakers would win the finals, but it turns out not

i would love to see the hawks and blazers in the playoffs and make it to the second round, but maybe that's going too far..anyway,the blazers are one of the youngest teams in the nba and with the continuing devlelopment of their "Big Three"(Roy,Aldrige and Oden),deep bench and some playoff experience, they're gonna be a team to watch in the coming years

Well,up to now,it's more like to be that Boston meet the LA in the finals, but nobody knows what will happen in the future, there still have some other competitive teams , especailly in the West.

the toughest matchup for the Lakers in the West is New Orleans. But i'm seeing the latter to lose in 6 games.
The Celtics has the tougher matchup in the East against the Cavs. I'm not sure if they can get past. But anyway, Lakers vs Cavs is a good matchup as well.. Any NBA fan will exactly knew what i mean..

For me ,Houston Rockets is the best team i admire.Of course i hope they can win the final champion next year. But judge from the performance up to now, I have to admit that Celtics still has a good chance to win the O'Brien Cup, cause their performance is the best thus far, and their still keep the strong defense which leads to their finally victory last season. If Dikembe Mutombo Join this team ,they will be better .Londo has been more matured and the chemical reaction among Kevin ,Paul and Ray has been more smoothly.Based on those factors, i have to say that Celtics still are the most might competitor for the O'Brien Cup

Oh,buddy, I love Rockets too.and I also wish they will get the champion.
But in fact,I also admire that,up to now,Celtics and Lakers show the best performance,if the season goes on like now, there will be a big chance that they will meet each other in this season's final,if they all healthy,Lakers will do better than last season's final, but it's still hard to tell which one will win.

I dont know about the Rockets, they have yet to come out of the first round of the playoffs. If they can keep T-Mac,Yao and Ron healthy all the way, then they are contenders although i wouldn't count the Jazz and Spurs out too..The Western Conference is just so darn unpredictable..Celtics are on pace to a 70+ win record..the only real threat to the Celtics right now i think are the Cavs..

i really think the cavs will make it to the finals and lose against the lakers. we all know it's impossible to stop king james and kobe bryant, but bryant has a much better support crew than james does. lakers on top 08-09 season.
next season? go warriors!
