That is also one of my problems during my daughter's bath time... she is already 2 and a half years old... but i still carry her when i wash her hair... she doesn't like it when water touches her eyes and nose... and if that happens... she would instantly cry and ask to get out of the bathroom... I hope she will outgrow this soon... just like all the perks that she have... some of them are now gone... but some are still there...

I didn't have this problem. From the time my son was born, I washed his head, face, hair all like it was nothing. I was careful not to get soap in his eyes, but I didn't go out of my way to prevent just water from getting on his face. Maybe it helped in that they say for several months, the baby retains the instincts/memories of being in the womb and they usually open their eyes while in utero. It's how they explain an infant's ability to swim... Also, by doing it this way from the very start, he learned to accept it. My little one is almost 3 1/2 and he's learned to close his eyes under the shower water and I usually just brush back a majority of the soap so to get most of it from going into his face. When he takes a bath, I use a large cup and the term "chin up" and he knows to tilt his head back... Maybe you could try giving them a dry hand towel to cover their eyes with... Or, I've seen those shower/bath caps that look like sun visors that are supposed to keep water/soap from getting in their eyes....

My last child hated water on his head. I just took a wet wash cloth to his head to rinse his hair after washing and after several weeks he was ok with that. It was awful though in the begining he would scream as if someone was hitting him and it was so hard to hear him scream that way. My neighbors would ask me if something was wrong with him. He also hated hair cuts. When he was 2 he wanted to swim with his older brothers and I explained that pools are filled with water and he didn't like water on his head but, he insisted on going. He dunked his head under water and from that point on he doesn't mind his head wet. You could try looking for the "no water shampoos" when I worked in health care we had it for our bed ridden people.
