Blue Christmas

Do you feel blue at Christmas time. Do the old songs remind you of a time long ago when you were surrounded by loved ones now gone. Its funny how Christmas cheer can make you feel more broken hearted sometimes. This year I'm missing my dad. How about you, do you ever feel blue at Christmas?

For the last 16 years, I have. My mom's boyfriend was killed by a drunk driver. The last GREAT Christmas we had was with him. He was the most loving, nicest, greatest person in our lives. I miss him dearly and it gets worse at Christmas.

I'm so sorry for you loss. Its wonderful that you have beautiful memories to hold on to, even if it does bring a little heart break with it. Sorry I didn't responded to this sooner, I didn't get an email alerting me.

Hi glords~Yes Christmas time does make me feel blue too. I miss my brother very much. He's been gone for 21 years, but we always talked on Christmas even though we lived in different states in the last years that he was alive. I think about him all the time, but on birthdays and Christmas it is really difficult. He was my baby brother and only sibling. My Mom is in Florida and I am in NY so I am not with any family anymore. So it is kind of sad for me. But I have friends and I get through it. I hope you can enjoy the holidays anyway even though it is hard. I wish you a very Merry Christmas to you and your family.

It doesn't feel like Christmas without family close by. I'm sure your brother is watching over you, especially this time of year. I try to keep reminding myself that my dad would want me to be happy on Christmas, even though its so easy to feel blue. I wish you a very merry Christmas as well. Thanks for posting.
