My husband and I watched the movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" last night. It's about an alien who's mission is to save the earth by destroying all humans.
I'd rate the movie as average. I like Keanu Reeves as an actor. But some people say (including my husband) that whenever he acts, he's expressionless and emotionally dull. If that's the case, then that kind of acting is just right for the movie :)
I researched the movie and actually just found out a few minutes ago that this movie is a remake. The original movie was in 1951 and it was still in black & white. :)
What's your opinion of the movie? Have you watched the original version? And what do you think of Keanu's acting?

I watched the movie yesterday as one of my company's team building activities. It was lower than my expectation and the ending can only be described as a "vacuum cleaner"... it sucks! I give 2 out of 5 stars for the rating. I like his movies but this one doesn't bring out the best of his acts!!! Only a pretty face alien...

the ending really is a bit dull. when the movie ended, our reaction was "huh?"...

yup, it's a remake. i saw the original. ofcourse the effects were boring. anyway, bout keanu, i guess it's just his last films that he is portraying an emotionless face. i saw him in an old film, bill and ted's bogus journey. i think he was loose on that film.

really? other than the boring effects, was the story the same?
yeah you're right. i disagree whenever people say that keanu is an expressionless actor. coz i think he was able to show what his role should show in his movies (like The Lake House, he wasn't boring there! :D)
