What do you do to help a headache? I've tried a bath, ice packs on my neck and Tylenol. Is there any home methods or natural ways to get rid of head aches? How often does this happen to you? I get headaches every week. I am prescribed medication for my migraines but sometimes there to strong for the headaches yet Tylenol doesn't seem to work for them.

For me, and it really shocked me when I heard of it, and tried it, and it actually works most of the time, is caffeine. The kind of migraines I occasionally get sometimes intense behind the eyes with actual visual impairment. Sometimes I just get the visual effects without the pain, but that has decreased the past few years.
But for some people caffeine can CAUSE headaches, so one just have to try it to see what it does.

That is true. Headaches are sometimes caused by the blood vessels being constricted. Caffeine helps to open the blood vessels. I hope you get to feeling better. You may want to take a break from the computer. Sometimes for me, staring at the computer screen too long can cause headaches.

I have gone through all the posts. But I am not sure that the posts are being read as there is no comment.
I am suggesting a remedy that is totally different and needs no medicine and will not only help in headache but in many other diseases and in increasing the power of immunity and will keep fit and healthy. You just have to spare 30 min. for yourself. If you do not feel any difference in 7 days, just forget it. And if it works just let others know of your experience.
If you have access to 'AASTHA' channel in TV just view the programme on 'Pranayam' ( a kind opf breathing exercise ) by Swami Ramdevji. Otherwise, just have a look at the sit below

you are sure to find many thing useful. Even you will find it useful,if you have children and you want to grow them healthy and with good personalities.
I am telling it from experience of following it for last two years.
Hope you all a healthy new year..

i am lucky enough in this case..i have never got serious head ache, sometimes it feels very heavy when i don't have enough sleep or tired...but not so serious as to take medicines etc. So i can't help u with the medicines or remedies, but i think that instead of taking allopathic medicines u should try home remedies, or ayurvedic remedies, they dont have side effects. Allopathic medicines make u addict of them and then side effects are dangerous..

I am told that a headache is usually your body telling you that you are dehydrated. I've tried this before and it worked for me..
Try drinking Gatorade(or any sports drink) or water, And I mean, quiet a bit!
It actually did make my headache go away in a matter of minutes.
Hope you feel better soon

Here's a short article on headache relief.
http://www.ehow.com/how_4583372_relieve-headache-reflexology.html
Sometimes a headache is simply a matter of stress, but if you feel like it's the start of a migrain, but you don't want to take meds, in addition to an ice pack on your neck, be sure the trunk of your body, your hands and your feet are warm. I used to put an ice pack on my head, a heating pad on my stomach, fold my hands over the heating pad and cover my whole body up. It usually worked, but I'd sleep for 8 hours. If you don't have 8 hours to sleep, this isn't an option. Try the reflexology.
If it's possible that the headache could be from eyestrain, try this one.

Hi Keely,
Im sorry to hear you have bad headaches. But can I ask...are you suffereing from bad headaches or migrain? They are two completely different things but yet so many people who have very severe headaches think they have a Migraine.
I used to know a lady like that who would come to work complaining that she had a migrain and could have done with staying at home. Hmmm, Im sorry but if she had migraine she could NOT have gone to work! Migraines are debillitating in a bad way!! Horrible things and Im glad I have only had one in my lifetime.
Keely...as for bad headaches....there can be a few resaons but I find that if pain killers dont work, then try something to eat that is sweet or starchy. So have some potato or rice or some nice sticky toffee pudding (any excuse lol )
And try having a glass of water.....its quite surprising how quickly one can have a headache from slight dehydration.
If those tips dont work..then a little nap might help.
I tend to get headaches 2 days before my period is due or on days when I have not eaten properly. I just follow my above tips and try to relax.
Hope that all helps a bit for you hun.
Tink

My doctor suggested this to one of my friends... try drinking a glass of water with 2 Alka Seltzer Gold tablets dissolved in it. Many migraines are caused by food allergies and the Alka Seltzer helps to neutralize the bodies acids, calm allergic reactions and prevent a migraine from forming. She said it works wonders and no longer takes anything for her headaches and hasn't had a migraine in years.
Garlic and Ginko Biloba are great supplements for increased blood flow to the brain.

well this is dumb, but someone told me it a long time ago...have someone pinch you really hard some where far from your head, like the foot maybe, it causes alot of blood to rush to tend to the "wound".
Just a myth though. I guess all you can do since you did the obvious, is waited it out, and get some sleep!
feel better hun!
