Why to you think that after his early departure India cannot boast a huge total. We do have many quality batsmen down the order. The master blaster is yet to come. So we could expect that India will be scoring a lot of many ones on the second day also. And I think it is better that we give a good lead to the England team so that they can feel the pressure. Or seam bowlers are now in very good form and the pitch will definitely helped a seam bowling. Apart from that the climate there is very cool and suitable for the fast bowlers. They will not get tired very quickly which was the case in Chennai because the temperature there was very hard on the fast bowlers. And so I think posting a huge total and then trying to give them a follow-on is the best technique to go from here. Even if we cannot give them a follow-on but we can get them out quickly and with a good lead we can boast a huge total to the team when they were the batting for the fourth innings and we can get them out quickly again. But the game is not based on logic. So we can expect anything from both teams. They are competing each other to the top of the limit and that is where cricket is winning as a game

I think almost every batsman is in great form right now. So I don't think its going to be a tough job to score runs on the board in the first innings. If Sehwag was still there, he could have scored some quick runs and got out. But, it would have been a confidence booster for the rest of the batsman to follow. Since he got out, Dravid and Gambhir has been doing a great job out there. They haven't lost their wickets still. I think its not going to be that hard for India to score runs with the kind of form Tendulkar, Yuvraj and other peoples are in.

It has happened many times in the past.Cricket is not a game where a failure of one individual would spell doom for the team.India has won 4 of the last 8 test matches without the best scoring Indian player Rahul Dravid contributing. With the present frame of mind and form indians are in,i guess they will come up with a decent score.
