What do you do when you feel depressed?

I'm just asking. I feel pretty low today, due to a bunch of reasons I won't get into. I just feel down, pretty much like doing nothing just staying in bed and moping.
What do you guys do when you feel this way? Any ideas of how to cheer up? I'm looking for advice, I guess....

Well, sometimes, depression inspires me and I have written beautiful poems, poems that really pokes on other people's emotion when I am depressed. So what I do when I am depressed usually, is write. Poems or lyrics to a song which my husband put music on when he's in the mood to do so.
Or I just lie on the bed and watch tv or read a book if I don't have anything to do. Sometimes, when I amm too depressed and feel like crying, I just cry and cry.
But I think if you want to get rid of depression, the best thing to do is spend time with your loved ones - your family or your friends. Spending time with my family never fails to cheer me up.

I write poetry too sometimes. I don't think its very good poetry, but it does sometimes make me feel better.
You must have a very different family than me. Spending time with my family usually makes me feel much worse :-(

I eat. Or watch cartoons- good laughter can always help a depressed body to get better. And sleeping: a lot of sleeping.
Depression is a sign that something is not going very good. And thus it cries out: TAKE A BREAK! And this is what I usually do when depression comes: I go off line.

I guess I'm not original here. Usually when I'm depressed I prefer to listen to my favourite music or to read some interesting book. Sometimes I simply watch TV or talk to my friends. Sometimes I go for a walk with my dog. Any way at such moments I prefer to stay alone.

You swhould try working out or exercising in any way, it will automatically raise the serotonin levels in your brain thus makeing you feel much better about yourself try listing to some music while you exercise aswell for extra motivation trust me when your done you'll feel alot better

hello there...
first of all, i'm sorry because of you're feeling down today... well, what i try to do to cheer me up is, i will listen to music, watch tv, talk to friends, go out somewhere like shopping malls, chatting, playing the things you like e.g football, watching comedy shows or even a cup of coffee would help to cool me down... just don't think about the things bugging you and start to think about something else like you were traveling around the world, think about rome, paris or other vacation places... this will sooth your mind...

When I feel depressed, I will listen to the music, enjoy the beautiful songs, try to relax myself and try to forget the things that made me unhappy. Or I read some books, in the book, getting some fun, forget the things that made me depressed.
