Christmas is fast approaching. But how can we celebrate Christmas. many of us suffered from crisis and recession. That is why instead of merry christmas, it will be merry "crisis" mas. Are you planning to cook a lot of food this christmas? With this, i think we will only cook few foods due to crisis. Life is getting harder and harder. We have to do everything for us to earn money.

Please my friend, do not replace Christ with the word "Crisis".. I dunno if it means a lot for you. But the I have just seen nowadays that people are forgetting the real essense of this season.. It's not just about gifts nor the time for feasting.. It's not just about the forgiveness of the broken familes.. It's about the Gift of our Father in Heaven who have sent His only Son for us - sinners - can have eternal life with Him.. And That's Christmas.. People should learn that Christ is the reason for the season. And also, it is CHRISTmas - not X-Mas... THanks for sharing and may God Bless yoU!!

I tend to agree with you in your response here. Christ should not be replaced in any kind of manner but I think this member was just trying to put their own point across. And I also agree that the season is being forgotten for the true essence. Let's hope that we can join together as one and make it a great holiday remembering our Lord.

What crisis are you talking about? kabayan ^_^ The Philippines already having crisis so many Christmas in the past until now as before of this crisis of the rich nations..... The Crisis of corruptions is the crisis Philippines is having since then and now..... That's why there are still hungry families because of this crisis of corruptions.... These families are not only hungry for food but also hungry for educations for food but also hungry for educations the community where families are living.... The most important to celebrate Christmas is to be with our family....

I used to think that we had to have all the trimmings when it came to the holiday meals. Some years ago I stopped cooking so much food for any holiday because it was just too much to try eating some of everything. I don't bakes cookies any more for health reasons. This past Thanksgiving we had cranberry sauce for the turkey but it wasn't touched so that's off the menu next year. Besides is the holiday for stuffing our guts or for enjoying the company of family and friends? Don't get me wrong I do think that a nice meal should be served but we tend to go overboard. December is the month when the kids begin to discuss what to get Dad for Christmas. Some insist on a shirt; others a pair of socks, and the argument always ends in a tie.

I could not have said it any better myself. This world is facing some crises right now as far as the financial situation is. It kind of gets harder to deal with each year when the holidays come. My husband and I share a five year old son and I am kind of glad that is all we have in the house is one child. Money is tight enough as it is and my son has been asking for things from Santa and wants everything he sees on those ever present Christmas commercials. If you ask me the holidays are very commercialized and we lose the true meaning. I want my son to know the Lord and that the gifts are nice but we need to remember Christ's birthday. My son won't be receiving a multitude of gifts and I am kind of happy in that regard. When you think about the children end up getting gifts from us throughout the year anyway. The crises the world faces can get people down but the true spirit can live within us if we let it and celebrate family and also be joyful and happy for our blessings. It is hard to earn money and so easy to spend it. I am also hoping to stay home and make a nice dinner if all works out that way. I wish you much luck this season and before you know it it will be a New Year!

You are right. It is a crisis, but we have to have the bad to mingle with the good. I think when this over we will all have learned a lesson. For my dinner each one of us bring a dish or two.

One thing that's good right now, "Gas prices is getting low!". We just have to keep our hopes up and pray that everything will be alright on the coming year.

hello rberon1985, I strongly agree with that. This is the year that I can't feel the spirit of Christmas that much. For the company that I'm working with for more than twenty years is on recession right now. And because of this, it's so hard to spend that much for I need to save for the future. Nobody knows what will happen next. So to celebrate the Christmas, we'll just do it in a more simple way. What matters is that we'll all go to the church to thank HIM for everything and to welcome the birth of Jesus Christ.

I agree with you but Christmas isn't all about food and giving gifts or all those commercial stuff! As long as you're with your family and friends, it will be an okay Christmas for me. Yeah...because of the crisis, we'll also cook a few foods too, not to mention there's also the New Year. I'll just pray then because in our religion, Christmas is the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. It's his birthday so I'll greet him soon. Merry Christmas everyone!
