It is said that there are no big problems, just big challenges. Have you ever had a problem you felt just couldn't be solved? I'm sitting here with the Directv repair man now and we have run across a real mind- bender. But I am confident we will get the problem solved. How about you? What is your mission impossible challenge?

I honestly don't think I've had any problems that I felt could not be solved in one way or another. Maybe it stems from the "Handywoman Special" house I bought when I was 27. This house was a disaster! It was almost 100 years old and had been lived in to decades by the woman we bought it from, who looked like SHE was almost 100 years old. Some of the things I found in that house were unbelieveable! I had to completely tear out walls and put up new ones. Some of these walls were retaining walls! But, I was careful and did what was needed so the second floor wouldn't collapse. There were things in that house that I thought were utterly impossible to fix, or repair but, with enough brainwork, I was always able to come up with a solution. Maybe that's why I don't see anything as impossible these days. Some things take longer to fix but it doesn't mean that they can't be. Sometimes, "fixing" something means throwing it out in the garbage and starting over, but it can be solved! In my family, these types of problems are usually thrown my way because everyone knows of my track record for getting problems solved. It does make me feel good; it's a real ego-booster! But, it also takes a toll on me if too many are thrown at me at once. Luckily, this doesn't happen very often. I'm so glad to see you again, singout! It's been awhile. You must be awfully busy these days! I certainly hope that you will get your DirecTV working sooner rather than later! Hmmm, it wouldn't have anything to do with trees being in the way, would it? I heard of a person who had several trees cut down in order for their DirecTV to work!

Thanks for the response my friend. I'm one for leaving the problem before it gets too frustrating and letting your mind sort of reboot. I've solved many problems that seem unsolvable with that method. This TV problem is a real conundrum. And though we may have found the source, we still haven't found the solution. The repairmen left because we thought we had somehow fixed it. I'm not going to call them back, at least not right now. It would take too long to explain any further. At any rate we found a stop-gap cure until we find the reason behind the problem. It's good that you're still posting mentalward. Keep up the good work.

well i dont really know whether to call it a problem, challenge or confusion.... guess this itself is a problem of decision...... i have so many roads in front of me which i can chose to take but i wish i knew which one was the right one.... everyday the possibilities are expanding and my confusion is growing worse..... if one door is opening the other is about to close so im literally making my mind run for it..... its getting to be really frustrating too..... there are so many people telling me so many different things its impossible to make a decision but i just hope that when i do make a decision its going to be the right one.....
