Always! I even had to go to Charm School. My Dad and Grandfather were Fighter Pilots in the Navy. So how we acted was a direct reflection on them. We had to know everything about manners, sitting, table setting, entertaining, proper English, proper topics, calling cards (and no not to make phone calls), style, etc.
I am expecting my children to know the same things and also go to Charm School. I think this society has strayed really far from a polite society and it drives me crazy! Cheers to Emily Post!

I agree with you about society being strayed far away from a poite society. I have noticed that so many children and adults have no manners at all and it drives me crazy as well. Many thanks for your reply :D

I feel that it is a must to say please and thank you all the time. I will admit that because I am human, that I do forget to say it sometimes, but I do make it a point. I also seem to annoy people sometimes because I say sorry a lot too, especially if I bump into you.

Manners is more than saying please and thank you. Manners is the art of making everyone around you feel as comfortable as possible. I am usually pretty good at this, but there are of course exceptions.

I agree with what your saying. It seems when I hold the door for people very few of them say thank you. I think the potite thing would be to at least say thanks. Many thanks for your reply :D
