I am finally getting around to telling you all about something that happened to a friend and I when we were 15 or 16 years old. My real name is Tonya and her name is Sonya. I am telling you this because it is relevant to the event. To set the scene, I was living with my parents and sister and the ghost of my deceased grandfather. We had come to accept the fact that he was present as it was normal to hear him clumping up or down the stairs, for friends who were able to see spirits to see him sitting in his favorite chair, for the hands on the clock that used to be his to spin around and around, I had a radio and a record player that used to be his and if I changed the station on the radio he put it right back and if I put on a record he would only let it play if he liked it, otherwise he would lift the needle up off the record and it did not matter how much I tried, I could not get that record to play. One time I awoke in the night to the smell of a cigar and he was standing there holding my bedroom curtain up, looking out the window. (I could only see a general darker shadowy spot, but the curtain was suspended in the air so I could tell what I was seeing without actually seeing him) As soon as he was aware I was looking he immediately dropped the curtain and disappeared completely but the next morning I coul still smell his cigar. So, this is the reality I lived with. My friend, Sonya, who lived an hour away, had come to spend the night. The folks left us home alone and we were playing cards by candlelight at the dining room table. This is a long story, let me try to abbreviate. A voice, from the livingroom, evil enough to make hairs you didn't even know you had stand on end, "Tonya . . . come ere." We both get big eyes and look across the table at each other. I ask Sonya, "Wh - wh- what did that say?" She said it sounded like Tonya come here. I said, "That's what I thought it said, I was hoping it said Sonya come here." Well, it called me again and I crept toward the livingroom and felt an immense evil presence enveloping the room and so I reached toward the lightswitch on the outside of the room and turned it on. I felt the evil swoop down behind the couch, into the only dark place left. I guess that made the evil smaller, as it could no longer fill the room. I was terrified beyond belief and jumped and screemed when I felt a hand on my shoulder but it was only Sonya, having crept up behind me to have a look herself. At that moment a loud pipe organ began to play (what I later found out but did not know at the time was The Death March) a song. We screamed and clung to each other as the radio came on and the clock hands began to spin and I cannot say for sure what all happened because I really don't know if anything else did or not, all I remember is mom and dad pulling up and the garage door going up. I don't really know what else happened because Sonya would not discuss it at all. My dad had to take her home and we are no longer friends. It was midnight when the organ played and stuff and it took my dad til 1:00 AM to get her home and 2:00 AM to get back home so he was not thrilled. The story I have just related is true, if I had made it up, I oculd've made it a lot more interesting than that. Anyhow, from that moment on, grandpa's ghost was gone. What I do not know and would very much like to know is, did he try to take me to hell with him? (he was a bad man) or was his presence allowing evil spirits and he realized he had to leave to protect me? I don't think he wanted to protect me though. Anyhow, that is what happened. I hope you will leave a comment letting me know if you have any insight or opinion on what exactly happened. I feel as if the doorway to hell was open in the livingroom and if I would've stepped in there in the dark I would've been sent directly to hell. I would like to hear of your experiences with the ghost world if you have any.

My immediate reaction to this , and I have dealt with ghosts like this before, is that your Grandfather was an evil soul. He felt guilty when he passed and was frightened to cross over. He was NOT trying to protect you , but rather to use you as a shield to protect him. He is gone and will not return, you are safe from his presence. He was being pulled to the other side that night and was using you as an anchor to hold him here, failing that he wanted to hold you before him to deflect his deserts. Blessed Be........this world is a better place for his passing.......... get rid of the clock!

I have chills . . . omg, you are so right. This question has been on my mind for so many years. Thank you. I cannot get rid of the clock, it belongs to my parents. It is in their house. Anyway, now that he is gone, the clock holds no power. Neither does the radio or record player. Thank you for your help.

What it sounds like to me is he was trying to protect you as long as he could but when he did leave is when the evil spirit came in. At that point your uncle thought you could handle it and possibly protect your self. Here is something you can do to prevent anything that is trying to hurt you into your home. Take some normal house hold salt(sea salt is better but house salt will work also) Sprinkle it under every entrance to your home including the windows while placing the salt you need to say a prayer. If you are christian the lords prayer will do just fine.
What this does is purifies your home and evil cannot enter.

That was a long, long time ago, not in this house, in my parents house when I was a kid and it was my grandpa, not my uncle, and he was NOT a good man (He sexually abused and raped people) so I am not so sure about the protection. As far as the salt, I use white candles to remove evil spirits and it works great. We had a lot of them in this house here until I did the white candle ceremony and put them all out and erected a barrier so they cannot return. Now my daughter can be home alone without encountering them anymore. It scares her because she can physically SEE them with her eyes. I can't see them so much with my eyes, except a shadowy kinda thing, but she sees them as plain as day. I can hear them, but I pretend I can't so they won't bug me. lol. Anyhow thanks for the tips.

This is amazing. I have never heard anything quite like it. I know things like this can happen but I just never heard about it. I do know a girl that seems to have spirits follow her. Every place she lived she would have some kind of occurance.

Hmm.. Why does this sound familar.. Have we spoke before on another forum?... First off I see Grandpa as was protecting you, and not as taking you with the evil Spirits. Grandpa may not have been very nice while on earth but seems to have changed his ways.... And well you would not have been sent to hell, neither they, as they are not lost. Hell is just for lost fragments and where negativity feeds itself... It is not the same way as many think of it. I like to call it the cave of Lost souls.... You are perfectly safe, and fine, and Grandpa was just trying to help. He is around often in Spirit but he knows you fear him... So he usually does not allow you to see him around, unless he was trying to alert you to something. Which in this case he was... take care

I have shared this experience on other forums. I don't think he is still around, as prior to that time there were signs of his presence and since that time there are none. He was a very bad and evil man. I don't think, considering what he did to me and other females on this earth, that he is still around. In fact, a new baby was born in our family and given his name and it is content when anyone holds it except me, and then it cries so I think it is him, reincarnated. Thanks for your opinion, though.

wow, ok i sense that this man was not a nice man and that he was very controlling even when he was alive i sense that everything had to be done to how he liked it or else he wasnt happy at all. I may be way of the mark here but i feel that he was trying to latch onto you instead of crossing over and then that night that all this happened if your friend had no of came up behind you and grabbed your shoulder or tapped your shoulder that you would of been sucked in with him and thats how he wanted it that when he would leave that you would go to, So i honestly feel that your friend saved you.
