Most of the time I respond to things that really interest me. If I'm looking for things and can't find anything that really hits home with me I'll go ahead and answer a couple for money! lol But I also don't drag those answers on! I don't want to see like an idiot! lol

I am a relative newbie to Mylot myself. I think it's two weeks today since I became a member. So, I really haven't got myself into a groove of posting and replying.
However, quite frankly I value quality over quantity. And I have absolutely no idea how Mylot calculates their earnings and my understanding is that they do not want us to know the specifics so that we can not circumvent the system and inflate our earnings artificially.
With that being said I have nothing to compare it to. As this is my first and only discussion board or thread postings site I have ever participated in. But regardless of how much money I earn or not I'm enjoying myself here. I have met lots of interesting people and even had a few intelligent conversations.
So, as for all of the threads pertaining to payment and earnings, I have no way of evaluating whether my experience is similar or different to that of others. I will not go in to the specific amounts of earnings. However, even being a new member of just two weeks, I am quite confident that I will be able to make the minimum payment of $10.00 this month.
I will leave it up to others to determine how and why this is, but I believe it is because quality is valued over quantity. So yes, I definitely post for my soul rather than for the money. If I don't have anything important to say or unique to add I won't post. Sample postings such "yea me too" or "I agree" are not helpful, and as such I do not think should earn as much. I also make an effort to read all of the previous postings.
At big pet peeve that I've noticed here at Mylot, is that people will post an exact or almost similar post to someone else, or worse reply with a totally unrelated answer because they did not read the whole question or discussion.
So although I have not been here long I definitely strive to post quality content. In both my personal posting of questions as well as my response to others' postings. And to put it bluntly I have made more than I thought I would here and because I have exceeded my expectations I'm quite happy with Mylot.
I will definitely continue to post quality over quantity as to me everything else is meaningless.
And that's just my 2ยข worth! Happy Mylotting!

Thanks a lot,you might be a newbie but you definitely post a lot and good.
I just hope MyLot will be more fair than Yahoo! answers. I used to be a top contributor there but somebody flagged my asnwer for no reason and my account got suspended and no amount of inquiries would help that.
Good luck to you too!

None of them are for money anymore. I don't even really think about money when I'm on here. All of my discussions are because I'm bored and like chatting with other people. Sometimes I do come up with stupid topics, but it's just because I'm bored and want to talk with someone, not because I want the money.

Lol
that's right. I like to do sorts of polls to see how many people have similar opinions.

i think i have started about 10-15 for me, and rest for money. and when i answer in about 10 lines which i have done only few times it means i am really involved in that topic and it keeps me dragging.
it is not fare. i think we come here to make money and i give little bit of interest to other things. when we are at work my policy is to concentrate on it.

I really try to respond to discussions where I have at least my 2 cents to add ot it. If I have no opinion or no knowledge of the subject matter I pass it over. nothing irritates me more than someone putting in a random response to my discussion that has nothing to do with the topic. But even though I try to find discussions that I can contribute to I do it for the money.

Fair enough. I would like to participate in a discussion dedicated to fixing cars or something like that but, unforunately,I will have to pass that topic! :)

I have been a member for 9 months and I have only just reached pay out so my first payment will be in January 2009. I go for the ones that interest me more so then ones that don't concern me or interest me. Sometimes I do add new people and go through a bunch of theirs to answer a few of there questions but to show I am going through profiles and checking things out.

I just respond with what comes to mind at the time. Sometimes my responses are 1-2 lines, other times they are 3-5 lines. As for discussion starters, I will ask what comes to mind and what I am curious to know what others' answers are. I don't think about the money when I am typing.
