I don't even know if this is true, this just heresay from my father, but he claims that Vista has made their program where if you need to install it again and after like let's say the third time of activation they will not activite again for you again. SO do you find this fair? Did you have a simlar problem? Tell me your story.

no they would not let you do that anyway. They have vista set up where it takes the processor model number. so you would have to have ths same processor.

As an earlier commenter said , business is business, but I still don't find it fair, they have never done this with the other Microsoft products why start now?

I haven't heard of that exact measure, but it doesn't surprise me. I'm not the biggest fan of Microsoft. I've had issues when I went to reinstall previous Windows operating systems after reformatting the hard drive before.
The irony here is that viruses made me reformat the drive. And yet without Windows I would not have gotten the virus (most viruses are written for Microsoft stuff). and then they make it hard to reinstall. It's like getting punished over and over.
I am thankful that Linux is getting easier and easier. Free software is the way to go. Most Linux distributions encourage people to download and install their software, without spending any money.
I'm also thankful for the move to web based software. As soon as the move is made so that all software is we based, then it won't matter what kind of computer is being run.
Sorry for the rant. I am just angry at Windows. I am currently using Vista, and just had to reboot the computer because of Vista's problems.

Sorry to hear you had to reboot, if I visited more websites and stuff I would probably have to reboot also, but then again I am kind of paranoid I keep my Mcafee 8.5i at full power, which really slows down Vista.
I also use Linux, but I still use Vista over Linux 8.10 ubuntu because I can't get my wireless to work on Linux for some odd forsaken reason yet.
Have a Merry Christmas,

Actually I don't want to make complain about Window Vista on TOO MUCH basis or ground. Although I knew it weakness and the marketing strategy done by microsoft in this part. For now they are still on research basis. That is why if your computer's memory not at 2GB(at least), you'll encounter lots of trouble, although its minimum requirement mention only for 512MB. The best thing is, you have to wait till its latest version tentatively by 2010. That's all for my short and shock comments.
Some parts I agree with your father saying. Fair or not, this is business world; its marketing plan and strategy. Our knowledgeable discretion speaks itself.

ha ha! yea you got a point is all business, just they never did that on the other window operating systems, which is why i don't see they should change now, but like you said waht makes money go for it.
my laptop only has 2gb of memory and it runs so slow with just vista running, and that is with most of the settings turned off! 512 mb run on it? ROFL

lol!
actually i was doing some reconfiguring in vista yesterday, i turned off all of my security stuff, and all my extra unneccesary programs, and ironically at that point it ran faster than windows xp or me. so i guess that says how sorry Microsoft is.
