This is JUST a news story, nothing more, nothing less; I'm not attacking anyone and I'm certainly not blaming anyone other than the woman in question here, Bristol Palin's future mother-in-law.
"Sherry Johnston, 42, was slapped with six felony drug counts Thursday following a lengthy undercover state police investigation.
Her son, Levi Johnston, 18, is having a child with 18-year-old Bristol Palin - the daughter of former GOP veep pick and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin."

Palin spokesman Bill McAllister said in an e-mail statement, "This is not a state government matter. Therefore the governor's communications staff will not be providing comment or scheduling interview opportunities."

The problem with society is the fact that they believe you are guilty by association. I think it is very unfair that people would think that palin has anything to do with it without hard evidence. I don't know a whole about palin as I am canadian I rarely follow the us elections BUTI think society as a whole needs to stop judging people before getting to know them.
All the best to palin's daughter and soon to be grandbaby!

I read a few of them just because I don't know much about palin and thats why I responded the way I did. It is unfair to accuse one person of something if it was actually someone that person knows that did the deed.

In all fairness while there have been a few posters who have made comments about Palin that those who like her a lot may not have cared to read but I haven't seen any who have actually BLAMED her for what this woman allegedly did. I agree, guilt by association is very unfair most of the time!

Reading a number of the posts here seems to me a lot of them here are putting the blame on Palin.

They need to stay out of it. The people involved are not in public life. Nor are they accused of anything at all unusual in Alaska. People there, more often than not, are free thinkers who don't think they have to follow rules that they don't agree are good rules. Why use this to smear Sarah Palin? She does more than enough herself to drown in the mire!

No, that's OK, I didn't take you the wrong way. I was just repeating that I didn't mean this as a smear on Sarah. I sincerely wish her daughter the very best with her soon to be born baby and congratulate her on becoming a grandmother. There's nothing else in the world like it!

Sorry, Annie. I guess I didn't make it clear that I meant the discussion could go that way if people who respond push it. I was sort of repeating you. I guess I did a really bad job of it.

I don't think this will be the last of the tabloid stories to come out that touch on the Palin clan. I'm just glad that the Palins are not going to be in Blair House when the stories break. LOL

And the palin saga continues. With all these personal problems does she really think she is capable of being President of the United States? Yikes it just keeps going on.
I thought it was bad enough she had a pregnant teen, but this is just too much. Wow!
Not that she is responsible.

What does Sarah Palin have to do with this? She's not responsible for the acts of her daughter's in laws. Her daughter got pregnant, it happens and Sarah stood behind and supported her daughter. Isn't that what a mother is supposed to do?

Let me get this straight. The mother, of the boyfriend, of her daughter, gets arrested, and you say this means that she is not capable of being President of the United States yet having meet-n-greets in the home of a domestic terrorist, spending 20 years in a church with a racist, anti-American pastor, and endorsing a corrupt governor who has now been caught trying to sell Obama's senate seat, is absolutely no reflection whatsoever on Obama's ability to be President. That's the point you're trying to make isn't it?

Ah, the in laws. How well I remember mine. The sister in law so drunk she didn't know who she was taking home and the sociopath brother in law. Ain't they great?

Personally, the only reason I think this one is even mentioned in the News and is a Big deal is that Palin was once a thought in choice for VP. I often wonder why this would be a Big deal and everyone making light of it, when Palin and her husband were doing things questionable as well. And who in reality should really be there to Judge or criticize someone. This should not be of any real interest to anyone but the Bristol and Levi as well. Just my thoughts.

Well, I guess this baby will have to get along without her. This is a very sad story. I know that the boyfriend was counting on his mother being there when the baby was born. I hope that he is not into anything illegal like that. It would just be awful.

It is a very sad story. There's no indication whatsoever that Levi is involved in anything like this and if the story in the link provided by a previous poster is accurate I'd say it's highly unlikely he would be in any way involved in what his mother was doing.

As with the others, as soon as I saw this story I knew you would be the one to post it Annie. Either way I hope this doesn't become another way for hateful liberals to attack her. You've already had one person respond claiming that this somehow makes Sarah Palin unfit to be President.

One more thing I meant to ask before, do you feel that saying someone isn't "fit" (or isn't ready, suited, etc.) to be President is automatically a "hateful" attack? I do NOT think that at all! There are very, very few people currently living in this nation whom I'd say ARE any of those things in regard to being the President of the United States, I'm pretty sure we'd all agree about that even if we disagree about who those few people are. Therefore if any of us are "hatefully attacking" anyone we think or say isn't fit to be President we're attacking just about everybody, aren't we?

Not automatically, no. It's when they use garbage like this to say she's unfit. So far I've heard she's unfit because some guy who believes in witches visited her church to bless her. She's unfit because her husband had a DUI 24 years ago. She's unfit because her daughter's pregnant... the list goes on and on with stupid smears that people use as excuses to say she's unfit. On another forum one person claimed she was unfit because Alaska is 95% white and has no diversity. I then had to tell that person what an ignorant statement that was since Alaska is only 68% white, well below the national average.
If you think she's unfit because of lack of experience, that's fine so long as you aren't hypocritically supporting Obama. Disagreeing with someone on issues isn't a reason to call them unfit. It's just a reason not to vote for them. I never called Clinton or Gore unfit for example, I just didn't vote for them.

Task, they'd say she was unfit to be President if one of her kids got a funny haircut. Any and every excuse with them.

I can understand why there isn't going to be a statement from the Governor's office. Sarah doesn't know what to do or say about the situation. It's been stated before that Bristol's lover was a jerk and now we can see where it comes from. That whole outfit is dis-oriented, they should go back to shooting snowshoes, and other wildlife and get out of politics. This isn't going to help Sarah Palin when she runs for any office. Tooooo Baaaad!
