Something Better?

As I was working today my mind was thinking about my boyfriend. As i thought about this name the more i disliked the name boyfriend for him. Its not that I have something against saying he is my boyfriend because there is not. I love the fact that he is.
The problem lies behind the name itself. Whenever I hear the word boyfriend i always think of a little girl who has just had her first crush and fancies herself in love. I think of it as something passing between young kids who do not know what love is or what love is about.
So here in lies the problem. I love my boyfriend and i want to spend the rest of my life with him and him with me. I need a better name so that when i say he is my ____________ (insert new word for boyfriend) people will understand he means the world to me and that i love him with everything inside of me.
We are not yet engaged so words along this line are not yet suitable (but we will be soon :)). Does anyone have any suggestions! They would be very much appreciated!

I agree it is a highschool thing; something uncommitted with no strings attached. What me and my love have is committed and deep.

I like these names, but when i am talking to him not introducing him or telling others about him. This isn't enough to describe what he means to me. haha maybe i should call him everything :)

boyfriend is a general name given to guy who is dating a girl and is romantically involved with that girl.. so if u dont like the name boy friend u can call a lot of other names
introduce him as ur
1) cutie
2) sweet heart
3) dear
4) bunny
5) honey
6) love
list is endless so go ahead and find a few of ur own. Think what best would u like to call him in public
