Anyone had a bad experience about India-based data-entry companies?

I do not have anything against India nor its citizens, it's just that I had a very bad experience about a data entry company based in Gujarat which claims being a third party company that mediates work between legitimate companies and affiliates like me. There are actually a lot of job opportunities and, being relatively new in this web-based industry, you can readily say I was lured into joining by the large sums of money that was promised. And so I joined and was promised to get paid on a certain pay date. Only that, four to five pay dates later, I still have to get a glimpse of how much I earned. The bad thing is that I called their so-called customer service and all I got was a busy line. In instances where I got through, the receivers often would point me to other persons much more like a basketball being bounced and passed from one player to another. The other bad thing is that they do not speak fluent English. Mind you, I live in the Philippines and calling India is not at all inexpensive. Imagine me being passed on to others. Grrrrr.... I was literally fuming mad and all they could tell me is that they will look into the matter. Just recently I tried to visit their website again. Only this time, they had a new website address, had moved their headquarters to canada and have placed office branches in the US, France, UK, and Australia. But, the website basically had the same style and content. Even the grammar and spelling errors were the same. Is this an attempt to veer away from the stigma associated with the website before? Does this mean that they have found legitimacy in their business? How about those they have previously dupped, working for them but not receiving their due? Is there anything we can do to prevent these companies from ever dupping other people again? I must admit I was so engrossed with the promises that I failed to recognize the signs. Have you encountered such an incident? What can you suggest I can do?
