Religion Sucks .....or does it ?

I have no belief in the supernatural. Nothing supernatural has ever been proven to exist other than what people can convince themselves to believe or convince others to believe. The mind is easily manipulated if the person gives in to the manipulation. Therefore in my view man created Gods in his image not the other way around. In my opinion all Gods were created to explain natural events that could not be understood with the contemporary level of knowledge. A few people took this concept and started convincing the masses that no other explanation was possible. The first organized religions were born. Thus beginning the "my way is the only way" genre of religions and perpetuating consistant and ongoing divisive, violent and manipulative behaviors which prevail to this day. Although a minority have managed to adopt a more tolerant stance for others within a religion, the overwhelming majority cannot find it within themselves to tolerate others or their beliefs without being in direct violation of their religion. This can only aggravate and induce dangerous and destructive behaviors. Personally I feel if people were properly taught cooperative ethics & conduct along with proper education in the sciences, most religions would be obsolete in the next 3 or 4 generations. The natural human emotions of admiration and awe would be more than satified with the natural complexities of the Universe and provable facts rather than for the contrived ignorance inherent in beliefs containing faith-alone based supernatural beings. I vote overwhelmingly against the entire concept of organized religion.

I would like to get rid of all the organized religions and replace them with a pure form of worship and spirituality.

I have to agree that organized religion has many flaws. It should be made against the law, Taxed as a business, The doors should be closed and the buildings used for other purposes, The harm created by institutions of wealth beyond imagination and the corruption, Leading to self destruction, Should be brought to an end, The lying leaders should be brought to justice, For no peace can ever be created Where there is no accountability The innocent should not be convicted of sin, While the judges should not be immune for deliberate actions that lead to or promote abuse. Blessings will follow when we hold their feet to the fire. Making the world transparent for all to see. Is that what you expected from me? :)
