Earnings in Mylot do fluctuate some times. It is because of your quality of discussion done. If the discussion of yours do not meet the mylot guidelines the earnings will come down. I dont think that should be an issue as the change is not much significant.

This happens quite a bit.
As the comments above say, it's because you contributed to a discussion that was deleted due to a violation of the myLot TOS. I was just fuming about the same thing because there was a discussion that I was involved with (totally legit)and yesterday a member posted an irrelevant comment that had a referral link in it. Basically what it came down to is that the whole discussion was deleted. There were I think 25 replies to this well thought out discussion that was very popular and all it took was one numskull to ruin it. Oh well, such is life.
Happy myLotting

I too am a reletive newbie to Mylot. My understanding is that Mylot does not want us to know exactly how our earnings are calculated, so that we cannot "cheat" the system so to speak and artificially inflate our earnings. At least that is the answer I have heard.
With that being said, I do not know how earnings are calculated. I do know however, that until we actually receive payment from Mylot, the earnings calculations we see are estimates only. As others have already stated, this will be why you will see slight fluctuations of a few cents either way.
As for money earned per post and why some earn more cents per post than others, I cannot explain. Accept to say, that I have made approximately 175 posts, and without getting into specifics, I am quite confident that I will make my minimum payment this month. So the only thing I can say for sure, is that it has been my experience, that quality is rewarded over quantity.
That is just my opinion, I don't know, and I could very well be wrong. I have heard many argue, that quality doesn't matter, and that the post is a post and will not be rated any differently.
So, I guess it's up to you, but I prefer quality over quantity anyway and so I will continue to post as I have been. And in the end, I'm earning more than I ever thought I could and so I'm more than happy with Mylot.
That's just my 2ยข worth, good luck to you and happy posting!
