How have you managed to go traveling?

I got a paper round when I was 13 and I saved up to go to Greece when I was 14. At age 16 I got a Saturday job in a shop and saved to go to the Netherlands when I was 17. I got a job as a children's nanny when I was 18 in Finland and the earnings from that gave me enough money to travel around Europe. I work as a primary school teacher and in my early days of my career I traveled in the long summer holidays. These days I do contract work and fit in a trip when one position comes to an end. I can sometimes travel during term times when I can grab a cheap flight. How have you managed to go traveling? If you haven't yet traveled where do you want to go? Around what age did you begin traveling?

My fist overseas travel was on a mission trip to Albania. I raised most of the money from church members. After that I got the travel bug. I quit my job at the bank and took a job teaching English in Taiwan. We got paid well, and had lots of vacation time, so I travelled around Asia. I went to Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Then, I married my husband, who is Japanese, and we moved to Japan. Then he got a job in Singapore as a Japanese teacher, and I taught English. Now he is working in India, so here we are!

Wow! Your life so far has been very exciting. I think the mission trip to Albania must have been very worthwhile. Well done for quiting your job at the bank to go teaching English in Taiwan. I am sure that is a lovely island with a charming atmosphere. It is excellent that you got paid well so went traveling in Asia. It is superb that you married a Japanese man and he too loves traveling. It must have been interesting living in Japan, then in Singapore and now in India. Thanks for your excellent response that I so very much enjoyed reading.

One of my friends is retired and she earns half to all of her travel funds through her activity on the Internet. My earnings on My lot are just a bonus and I go on it for my own enjoyment. Good luck making lots of money and I wish you happy traveling in the future.

I traveled with my family until I was 17. Then I worked a summer job in a bank, and I had a part time job in a store and one cleaning a club house. Since then I have worked quite a bit. I have also managed my economy well, so I do have enough money to travel whenever I can and want really

It is easy to oversepend when in New Zealand. There are so much to see, and so many cool things to buy. It's good with a bit of variety. Camping and staying in hostels gives a totally different experience from stayng in more costly places. have a great sunday:-)

Hello my friend Teison. You have taken on so many different types of jobs. It is lucky that you manage your finances very well indeed. I overspent a bit on my trip to New Zealand so my next trip was to Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia, camping and stying in youth hostels.

I visited New Zealand 2 years ago, and I absolutely loved it. It's like God's peaceful playground. I've never seen a country so beautiful in my entire life. I want to go there, too.

It is excellent that you got to do so much traveling when you were in the military. I notice that there are still man places that you wish to see and I hope you will get to see all of them in your lifetime. Cartagena in Colombia is one place that I would love to see. Like you the destinations on my travel wish list are well spread out in in the world.

I have done a lot of traveling, but not nearly enough! My first trip was when I was out of college. I saved my money from working and went with 2 other friends backpacking around Europe (I am an American). Since then, I have continued to travel in the US, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. I have moved a lot, and lived in many different US cities, and for two years, I lived and worked in London, which was awesome. My latest favorite trip was to Greece and Italy, and I would love to return to both places someday. (And I did throw my coin in the Trevi Fountain in Rome, so that guarantees it, right?) I have plans to visit Florida in a few months, but I would love to visit Asia or South America. Having money and time simultaneously seems to be the biggest challenge of all! Where are you planning to visit next?

You did so very well saving up your money and flying off to Europe to do some backpacking with two friends. Then you have taken full advantage of living in the USA. Its neighbors are Canada and Mexico and the Caribbean Islands are relatively nearby too. If I lived in the USA I would be going to Fort Lauderdale so go on a cheap airline to Cartagena in Colombia. I really wish to go to South America. My next trip is next month and that is to Cape Town and that is a 12 hour flight. In 2010 I hope to visit Canada. Yes, you will go back to Rome because of the coin! Good luck with more traveling and making some money for it.

My first world trip was in 1966, when travelling from Australia was so expensive we ( the average person) needed to save for a long time. In addition to my job, I took part time work at a Melbourne sporting venue on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. That trip lasted ten months and infected me with the travel bug. Since then I've managed to make several overseas trips.

Hi my friend Mipen. I have visited Australia twice now and my home country has some cheap fares to there considering the distance. You did so very well to save up when air fares were incredibly expensive. You had two jobs to pay for your trip so you were really hardworking. Like me I notice that you have caught the travel bug. It is wonderful that you have made several more trips abroad.

Hello maximax. It is a nice experience of yours to travel from place to place by way of working hard for getting money for yourself. I traveled together with my family when I was a small child. I only started to travel alone when I started to work in my early twenties.

Hello my friend Williamjisir. I think it is lovely that you traveled with your family when you were small. It must have been excellent for you in your early twenties when you began to travel alone. I was 18 years old on my backpacking adventure around Europe.

I haven't travelled as much as I would have liked to but, hopefully in the future I will when money allows it. I want to see so many places in the world and again hopefully this will happen!

I had the good fortune of working in an NGO that required some traveling abroad to strengthen partnership with foreign organizations and to attend policy meetings, forums and conferences or seminars and study tours. I started traveling when I was 30 years old. I have been to India (twice), Sri Lanka (once), Thailand (thrice), Netherlands (4 times), (East and West) Germany (4 times), (North and South) Vietnam (once), South Korea (twice), and (mainland) China (once).

Since my primary job is professional wrestler, I've gotten to see some amazing places and see some amazing people. Washington D.C. is an amazing place to visit and one of my favorites. I haven't traveled outside the country but in 2009 or 2010, I want to visit either France or the United Kingdom. Maybe even Japan. I am just really interested in backpacking to another country. It'd be fun and something I could tell my grand children!

You have a very interesting profession and it is excellent to hear about it. The USA is a large country so there are plenty of places to see. I must visit Washington D.C. sometime. London and Paris have a train between them so you could see both. It would be fascinating for you if you visited Japan. Backpacking is fun and gives man happ memories.

The first time I went traveling was when I was 20. My friend was doing a one year exchange in Germany. SHe invited me to stay with her host family for two weeks. All I really had to pay for was the plane ticket. I used some of my scholarship money for that. Next time I went to Cuba for a week with friends. I saved up and used the money I got back from my taxes to go. I then went to Japan for a week for my brother's wedding. My mom loaned me the money for this trip. Pretty much I've just borrowed money or saved up for all trips past that. Now I'm trying to save up to go on a very expensive trip to south america. I don't really know how I'm going to do it. Does anyone have any ideas???
